VIDEO | Mike Tyson Hopes Jon Jones Doesn't Fall To The Dark Side | UFC NEWS
“It depends on Jon, basically, what Jon wants to do. Number one, incidents like this, it basically turns into support system. A guy like me, when I was living my life making millions of dollars, I didn’t have a support system. I had a bad support system so I received bad support. So, in an incident like this, we don’t know. No one really knows Jon Jones, we just know he’s a splendid fighter. We’ve never seen a UFC fighter like that. Wow, i just wish the best happens out of this situation. Just like so many people love him, there’s very few people out there in a position to put him in a bad place. We’re gonna find out from this situation if Jon Jones is gonna make us continue to love him for his great fighting and the way he carries himself, as a great individual and humanitarian, or is he gonna let the bright lights and dark shadows invade his life and be one of those rising meteors, he just flies through the air and lights the world up and then he dies down in the moment. I hope not, because we all respect Jon and Jon appears to be a very nice guy and respectable guy. I just hope the best for him because I’ve been through those situations before. I’m pretty dark in my life. I come from a dark place. Wow, I just hope the best for Mr. Jon. Take care champ.”

nice words of encouragement from iron mike, a dude that has been there.
like the man said, u have to surround yourself with the right people. people who really care, not ‘yes’ men.
good luck jon. keep ur head up. stay humble. show respect, not pity.
I could listen to Mike talk all day.
Anyone can succumb to negative influence when they are rich and famous. Hopefully Jon learns from his mistakes and can remain humble and be a positive influence to others.
Mike Tyson is great
Speaking from his heart with a lot of hurt and knowledge Mr. Tyson is the G.O.A.T. I hope Mr. Jones listens to Tyson like Tupac did when he speaks. He lived it. Thanks for the video…One love from the city of “NO” in central cali.
Iron Mike is the G.O.A.T. No boxer has ever brought so much power to the ring!
A real self evaluation point for Jones. This was a serious incident, it could have been a nightmare if others were hurt. Learn from this, make yourself better from it.
It’s great to see a legend of boxing show so much support for a UFC Champion. Mike has lived it already, and with even more money than any UFC fighter will ever make anytime soon. I believe that Mike is being very honest with his opinions. Hopefully Jon will listen. Personally, Jon made a small mistake because we are all human. Now it just depends on if this was a rare incident, or if it’s just the beggining. I hope he takes the right path because I don’t see anyone beating him anytime soon at 205. ~BobO
Great advice from Mike.
if only bj heard this and got away from the fukin yes men he pays to kiss ass…if u not a yes man u end up like the marv bros…if bj did not have bitches around him the belt would still be in hilo…..yes men told him fight at ww fatty dont stay small
Bingo! So true but when that devil in your ear is your own brother it’s hard to break ties, it’s unfortunate to say the least. Imagine if his brother made him fight through all the pain from the Marv bros (which eventually would’ve got easier as your body gets use to rigorous training) shit all these guys now at LW wouldn’t even be a thought.
I love to see iron mike still be around combat sports, the guy spits mad knowledge and that’s the stuff that helps people better themselves instead of all the hate MMA fans spill over the Internet.
****in jones. He drove the hell out of a Bentley. Isn’t that a British car? They make ****in shit cars over there. ****’em.
“I had a bad support system so I received bad support” – that’s your excuse for ****ing it all up for yourself?! man, people like Mike Tyson are people that weren’t smart about their money or friends and ultimately learned the hard way. the best advice Mike Tyson can give anyone outside of boxing advice is just don’t be like me.
I think that was his point. Mike had idiots and people with ulterior motives in his corner. He surrounded himself with a bunch of people who gave negative influences. Jones might need to drop some dead weight and cut some people lose who may be a thorn in his life. Advice like that, coming from Tyson, is good advice…”don’t be like me” as you put it, is exactly right.
well he should get a new trainer … jackson is not the reason for his success granted i dont like jones at all but hes talented … jackson has made it obvious what kind of guy he is by turning his back on rashad for :”the next star at 205″ .. as much as i dont like jones i would deff like to see him turn himself around and started treating people with respect for once…and i mean not fake stuff real humilty would be nice..were not fools a lot of mma fans are intelligent people that see threw the quotes he looks at online and hypocritical actions such as signing belts before he wins it then saying he wont sign it cuz the person didnt earn theres…but as much as i dont like him like i said it would be nice for him to get with a coach whos not just concerned with his own legacy and winning belts for his gym..
