I hope this is a back and forth war but you are only as good as your last fight. Kongo is getting knocked out in the middle of the first round and he got lucky with Pat Barry. Meathead’s hand strikes are at least twice as powerful as Pat Barry’s and if this ends like Kongo’s last fight I will be very surprised.
This is a tough one to call for me. Both good fighters with heavy hands. This will be a good indicator of where Mitrione is at; great matchup.

I don’t think Mitrione’s stand up is as high caliber as Kongo’s. However, Mitirione has power and he has been working on a pretty smart boxing game. I also believe Mitrione has a slight advantage in wrestling, but Kongo has shown some pretty good takedown defense. I think Kongo can hurt Mitrione with kicks early on and he has to finish him early. If it goes into 2nd and 3rd rounds, Mitrione will probably be fresher and be able to get the decision or win by ground and pound TKO.
Kongo’s kicks will decide this. If Mitrione can hang with the kicks, he’s good. If not….
I seem to remember Kongo dropping Cain Velasquez everytime they were on the feet, and Cain is regarded as a good boxer (I don’t know why). Kongo is a kickboxer but he is so inconsistant in his showings… Kongo got dropped by Frank Mir, who has an evolving standup game, but still all Kongo’s fault… noone can tell what will happen in this fight… If I had to reason, I think Mitrione has shown a bit more consistancy a lot more improvement..
He certainty has transformed into a marketable fighter. I thought he was so annoying on the Ultimate Fighter but he has made a fan out of me. Let’s do this Meathead!
