There is no use in trying to defend against the claim that MMA is barbaric. The fact is, for the five minutes between bells it is total barbarism. These guys are modern day gladiators trying to kill eachother with their bare hands. I would even agree with the statement that MMA is not a sport, but it is competition, compettion in its purest most raw form. It is like calling marijuana medicine. Marijuana is a drug, an awesome super fun drug that people love. MMA is a sport? no. It is a spectacle, an awesome, super fun spectacle, and as long as there is consent and governing bodies, there is no reason why it shouldnt be allowed.

I love MMA, I write a blog about it, and I watch and follow as many MMA events as I can. That being said, I also respect the fat mans opinion. I don’t think all people have to agree that MMA is a sport and is not brutal. Everyone sees things differently, from different perpectives. I think there is too much hate towards a man who simply says what he thinks. Who cares about him? Why did they even interview him?
ALL traditional martial arts are designed to kill or inflict serious damage/pain with things like shots to the throat, groin, eye gauging and much worse.
In MMA the object is to either put them to sleep, make them give up or stop when they can no longer fight.. Barbarians don’t have rules!
