I’ve watched him lose several rounds now through studying and I just happen to have two coaches that are southpaws now as well so there’s a lot of knowledge in my camp about fighting guys with opposite stances. We feel comfortable, we feel as if there’s been some blueprints laid out. Obviously, we will come up with our own blueprint, take from what we’ve seen and make it an even greater defeat. We’re excited. We’re up for the challenge.”

2 things to consider; that was a movie, and Machida is no Bruce Lee. One more thing; Kareem may have briefly trained under Bruce Lee, but I doubt his all around skills compare to those of JBJ

If Jones can beat Machida and Evans, He would have cleaned out the top 4 guys in the division. Really no challenges left, but I do see Gustafsson making his way up to a title shot in the future.

Ok dude, whether or not bones jones has rubbed ur clit the wrong way, hes still one of the best fighters in the ufc and i think hes gona beat the dragon. i like both fighters, but lyoto is hittin that age, and i dont think hes gona b able to keep up with jones. he had almost a foot reach advantage over rampage, and it looks like he can make that count. if it goes anything like his last fight then lyotos gona take som hard hits while only brushing jones. silva has unspoken respect for this guy and lyoto should too.
i think machida stands a better shot than rashad and rampage. but with that said i still would put money on bones, hes just too dominant right now.

I agree. Machida is the better striker by far of those three fighters but I don’t see him being able to get anywhere near Jones. More than likely the fight is going to go a lot like the Rampage fight with lots of clinches and probably more ground work from Jones. Machida is a counter-striker and he won’t get the chance to time Jones. IMO.

Machida is faster, a better striker, smarter, better at ju jitsu, his sumo beats jon jones wrestling, he has gone all five rounds, he will be training with anderson silva. JOn Jones is good when he is not talking. But he is young, give him time to develope his maturity. He is dealing with a lot of fame and money right now, pressure too. He will be a better talker and find his real personality soon enough. I dont watch his interviews unless it is post fight. I just like to watch him fight.

As much as I would like to see Machida knock this little punk out, I don’t think his counter-striking style is going to work. Jones will Shogun the shit out of his legs and finish him with strikes and elbows on the ground. Jones’ wrestling is too good.
The only way to beat Jones is to Sonnen his ass and pound on him form the top position. Rashad has his number and will be the one to beat this Anderson Silva clown wannabe.

I would like to think so too, but I just feel that Machida’s counter-striking looking for openings style is just not conducive to picking apart Jones. To beat Jones, a fighter needs to do to him what Sonnen did to Silva and that is to come forward and get in his face and drag his ass to the ground and keep top position as you pound him out to negate those freakish long arms and legs. I just don’t think Machida is versatile enough or good enough to drag and keep Jones down. Bit we can always hope.
