so what if ellenberger ko’s shields? and does what GSP couldn’t?
He KOs Shields, and puts him a step closer to a title shot. Doesn’t make him any better or any worse than St.Pierre. He’ll have to fight GSP to answer that question. If that’s what your getting at. You also have to remember, Shields lost to a one eyed fighter. Who else do you know that fought for 3 remaining rounds (of 5 rounds) seeing only out of one eye, winning and still causing damage to his opponent. It’s not so much how GSP is as a fighter, but how Shields is.

I’ve always respected Ellengberger for his skills and personality. I’m becoming more and more of a fan. This is going to be a good fight. He will pressure Shields like no other. Just have to stay away from the ground.
I’ll take Jake in this one. ha ha smartass in every crowd but to be serious i think Ellenburger stands a rfeal good chance in this one. Although Sheilds’ stand up has improved by leaps and bounds compared to say just last year or so Ellenburger is much much better on his feet with accuracy and power. Before i saw Ellenburger fight Rochas i would have said Sheilds has quite an advantage on the ground but i agree with what Ellenburger said on his interview that he thinks Rochas actually had a better submission game as well as being much much more agressive with it. if elleburger keeps this fight standing he will do what GSP FAILED to do which is drop Sheilds and finish him.
