Gracie Academy in Torrance is a great starter school. The teaching there is legit and the atmosphere is a lot friendlier than some other schools I’ve visited. You’ll notice Rener talks a lot, but he is excellent when it comes to explaining things in detail.
If you eventually want to compete in the higher levels, I recommend going elsewhere. There are other schools with systems that are more competition friendly. If you live in the Socal area, you should have no problems in finding another one.
