While Sumo wrestlers are generally known for their incredible strength, Chiyonokuni Toshiki proved in this match against 6’3 443lb Bulgarian Sumo wrestler that agility and flexibility are also needed to be a dominant sumo wrestler.

In the early moments of the match, Toshiki proves to the crowd that despite being outweighed by nearly 150 pounds, he wasn’t intimidated by the much larger man. Ultimately, Toshiki manages to pull off an extremely unexpected move as he throws his opponent while doing the splits, injuring himself in the process.

Interestingly enough, while Teila Tuli participated in the first UFC tournament, no Sumo wrestler has found great success in the UFC throughout the evolution of the sport. Unfortunately for Tuli, his UFC debut didn’t go as planned as he was head kicked just 26 seconds in the fight and ultimately declared TKO’d after being unable to continue.

Check out the video above, which will likely make you shudder for a brief moment.
