Before UFC icon Anderson Silva was a world class mixed martial artist, ‘The Spider’ was getting his feet wet in combat sports.
In a rare video from many years ago, you can see a young Anderson Silva absolutely annihilating an unknown opponent in a rare kickboxing match that appears to take place in a ring inside a gym. The fight is an extremely lopsided one, as Silva quickly and violently dispatches of his opponent without taking much damage.
Silva of course is coming off a unanimous decision win over Derek Brunson earlier this year, which snapped a 2-fight skid that saw Silva drop a controversial unanimous decision to Michael Bisping, and a unanimous decision to Daniel Cormier on 48 hours notice. While Silva was looking to continue his momentum, his fight with Kelvin Gastelum was called off after Gastelum failed a drug test for marijuana.
