VIDEO | Fighting In Brazil Not That Great Of An Idea Says Frank Mir The Nogueira Smasher
“Werdum is a greatly improved fighter with phenomenal stand-up and I think his jiu-jitsu is some of the best in the world. The guy is awesome. The only reason why I at first said, ‘hmmm, maybe not a good idea’ when I found out he wanted to fight in June in Brazil. I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t know if that would be such a great idea, I don’t know if I’m gonna be that well received there.’ I’d have to go there for a whole week with my family, my wife and my children. I don’t think I’m in (Chael’s) boat yet, but at the same time if I go to a restaurant and someone is a Nogueira fan, what are they gonna do to my food? Brazilian fans, fans in general, can be kinda crazy and I’ve received quite a few crazy Emails. Google translate is a phenomenal thing but it kind of makes you cringe a little bit when you see what people wanna say.”

Brazilian crowds are amazing as long as you’re Brazilian yourself… Besides, Mir has a bigger opponent to worry about than Werdum.
Lol I love frank Mir but this is
All coming from the guy that wanted brock lesnar dead !! SMH sign the dotted line and make it happen for us fans!!
If he beats Cain it will be a miracle.
he has beat the only 2 guys with over average skill that cain has meet in the octagon but his chin and wrestling are a little suspect but i would much rather see him fight werdum to see who mma’s bjj heavy weight king really is but i guess werdum doesn’t get you a title shot these days
I would also rather see Mir vs Werdum, but just came back to the UFC. If Cain loses to Mir it would be due to a weak mental game. He seems to have had a tough time adjusting to the spotlight when he was a champion.
Mir is 260 + with KO power & a BJJ Black belt .
He is no cake walk .
Yer either overestimating the 240 Valesquez or yer underestimating Mir .
T’will be a major feather in the cap of whoever wins it .
I like both fighter but I also love an upset if the opportunity arises. If Mir can win great, if he doesn’t that’s okay too. I really think Cain is going to win mainly because of Mir’s age and chin not because he lacks skill. Both are going to get KO’ed by JDS.
brazilian fan are lame they only root for their people and wont recognize great talent in other countries
It’s called Patriotism.
every time theres a non american on a card in the america, the crowd starts chanting USA USA.
yeah cause saying USA is anything like saying you wanna kill someone cause you don’t like them to an MMA reporter
i think mir wud b kidnapped or beaten by the brasilians for what he did to nog.
Yeah yeah…and we will use our pet monkeys to kidnap Mir,and our alligators to kill him…
i was just going to say they were going to use your swat like tree people and drop him in a piranhna pit. plz think outside the box like taco bell buddy
Told you fools those Brazilians are psychotic mofoz.. even Jds folded to the pressure. Third world mentality.
Frank always spits the truth ..
When did JDS fold under pressure? He was game to fight and KO’ed Cain with an injured knee when he could have pulled out.
did you watch the video?
Nope. I read the excerpts that they have on the page. I’ll watch it now but I thought this was an interview featuring Mir?
Oh, this is a context thing. He folded to DEATH THREATS not in an actual fight. I call that being smart, JDS is a young guy and has a long career ahead of him.
the fact is he got threats in the first place, Brazilians are a little over board on things it must be a 3rd world country thing…
Brazil is not a 3rd world country you moron, it’s ranked as 6th economy in the world, ahead of Canada and Russia, dumbass…
lol
Yup they get crazy against the fighters they don’t like. Not just non-Brazilians though, remember this? http://bjjinmma.com/blogs/renzo-explains-getting-stabbed-during-mma-fight-brazil
Those times wasn’t even MMA…was ”Vale Tudo”…and was like street fights. World has changed bro, not just in USA.
don’t be scared homey
Don’t worry, friends from USA, we would never hurt your fighters…otherwise you guys would have an excuse to invade our country and steal our oil and natural resources…hahahahaha
hahahahaha
we would leave your ladies alone though cuz half of them are chicks with dicks… you guys love you some chicks with dicks..
LMFAO
Brazilian fans are mad disrespectful. I mean if an American wins against a Brazilian they boo the hell out of him. Without a doubt the Japanese fans are the best fans in the world. Japanese fans make Brazilian and American fans look like barbarians.
Frank wrecks my brain cant figure out weather i like him or not!!
think Velasques wins!
Mir got lucky against Big Nog
