Video: Chael Sonnen Offers Loser Leaves Town Match To Anderson Silva Following UFC 136 Victory
If Frankie Edgar had not knocked out Gray Maynard in such impressive fashion this past Saturday to defend his world title and put to rest a trilogy that has been several months in the making, more of the world would be talking about the “Oregon gangster”, Chael Sonnen, and his call out to Anderson Silva following his victory over Brian Stann.
Never one to beat around the bush Chael Sonnen delivered a statement to Anderson Silva this past weekend during his post fight interview with Joe Rogan that suggested that the loser of a proposed rematch between the two either, A. leave the division or B. leave the organization.
After being out of action for fourteen months the widely regarded number two middleweight in the world delivered an impressive performance over a top contender this past weekend to earn himself another shot at Anderson Silva’s UFC middleweight title.
The two last met in August of 2010 and in case you were living under a rock, Anderson Silva had one of the most amazing comeback victories in UFC history to retain his UFC title. Sonnen was able to dictate the pace and location of the fight for nearly four-and-a-half rounds but failed to close out the champion in the final frame and got submitted via triangle choke with just a couple minutes left in the match.
Many point to a nagging rib injury suffered by the champ during the bout and claim that a rematch will be as one sided as the first fight but that it will be the champion, Anderson Silva, proving the first performance was a fluke.
UFC president Dana White is on board and ready to book the rematch as soon as Silva is ready and recovered from a reported shoulder injury, so this fight is all but a lock. The talk will soon be over, but until that time, the MMA world will surely be split on deciding who to pick in this epic rematch for the UFC’s middleweight championship.

Agreed first they freeze then they get beaten, but that is just part of the equation, they wouldn´t freeze if Anderson was not a great fighter.
Okami was a perfect example of that, I would say okami looked defeated from the get go and the spider predator recognized that. Problem with sonnen is that he is not intimidated, thus psicological game doesnt count and we are up to a great rematch.
Oh and the match doesn´t end until the last round, if you are on top for 23 minutes and can´t finish someone, but get submitted last minute, then you didn´t do all that well.

maybe anderson has lower levels of testosterone do you know for a fact that he doesnt? because if he does have a lower amount and does not receive the same treatment would that now make it an unfair advantage? what you’re suggesting is that everyone be tested rigorously and as much as needed pre fight to ensure that each fighter is fighting on a level playing field. there needs to be impartial doctors who administer the tests and submit results to the athletic commissions to ensure no slight level of advantage for either fighter. is this the current situation of pre fight tests? no, it’s not. so why should sonnen be the one to benefit from a loophole in the system? if sonnen wants to have this type of therapy then the ufc should monitor both fighters with neutral doctors and see if any fighter really needs this so called treatment.
but why would it be on the fighter to administer these tests? should it not be the responsibility of the organization promoting their events? all im saying is sonnen is imo diagnosing himself, having his doctor sign off on it like a doctor prescibes medical marijuana and then convinces people unknowledgable of such treatment that he in fact needs it. the simple fact that the ufc does not monitor this type of treatment is mind blowing because they help promote the temptation to those who want to seek an edge over their competition such as the chael sonnens. all im saying is if you think it is evening out the playing field for sonnen how can you prove it isnt tilting the field to sonnens advantage?
I’m a huge Anderson silva fan, and he did get dominated by sonnen the first fight, buy for one sonnen cheated. That’s why he was suspended for a long period of time. And secondly, silva didn’t get lucky. It’s skill. Silva took advantage and won the fight. Thats like sayin everyone gets lucky that has a submission victory or a knockout, cause someone has to make a mistake.

I hope Chael is talking out his ass on the stipulations of the match because I don’t want either of them to leave the Octagon forever. But I am sure Anderson will do whatever he wants regardless of the outcome. As far as him moving out of the middle weight division, I hope that happens because Anderson has gotten too comfortable in the MW division. If Sonnen beats Silva…… BIG DEAL. Silva is still the most dominant fighter the UFC has seen thus far and Chael will never be able to TALK himself into that kind of success. I don’t think it was as much embarrassment as it was, “Are you shitting me? Is he really doing this right now?”
1. Anderson is not invincible, he has lost in the past and came back from losing rounds in several of his ufc fights.
2. Chael Sonnen is recognized (begrudgingly by many such as myself) as the number two mw in the ufc. If he can beat Vitor I would concede with that ranking.
3. 3/4 of the people on this site and overall internet mma websites agree that Anderson Silva is the better fighter between the two, not only by accomplishments and skill set but as an overall citizen of the earth. The other 1/4 support the sport for the pure entertainment of it, regardless of the antics and methods of harassment used by fighters with no class such as Chael Sonnen.
I referenced doctors signing off on medical marijuana prescriptions as a measure of how doctors do not follow protocol to the tee and can sometimes simply sign off on things that they know would not garner attention from law enforcement. i am sure you have heard of doctors signing off on prescriptions such as pro wrestler chris benoit’ doctor who recently received ten years for his involvement for illegally distributing prescription drugs to patients. or if you need an example closer to mma how about shane carwin’s pharmacist who was sentenced to four years for his involvement with illegal prescriptions. i am sure you are not so naive to think that a guy like sonnen with all his indiscretions would be immune to the possibility of using trt treatment as nothing more than a treatment to enhance his performances in the octagon.
