We know Anderson wants this fight. He can finish GSP whenever he wants. Silva is 3/3 KO/TKO LHW. Georges can’t finish anyone. He cut Carlos up, but never was he close to getting a finish.
Who says you have to finish a fight to make it a good fight. Or to dominate your opponent, or beat them up for 4 rounds. Only arm chair fans believe finishing a fight is the only way to make it exciting. I find someone getting beaten up for 3-5 rounds more entertaining, than a 1st round KO or submission. If you people understood the fight game, and what is involved in fighting, I guarantee they wouldn’t be using words like “lay and pray” and “finish a fight”.
…cause he’s scared shitless of JBJ.
I really can’t believe the number of people who are just assuming Silva will walk right through GSP. Silva’s weak spot is his takedown defense and St.Pierre just happens to be #1 in the history of the UFC for number of takedowns, as well as takedown percentage. GSP is a dynamic striker and certainly elusive enough to survive long enough to put Silva on his back. Also, St.Pierre is no slouch on the ground so I find it highly unlikely that the Spider would be able to catch him in a submission. I don’t think GSP finished Silva, but my money is he wins a lopsided decision due to his ability to get the fight to the ground and grapple his way to a decision win.
i agree with you 100% that GSP has a very good chance of winning. I doubt odds makers will make it even, but I think it should be.
If chael can do what he did, then GSP has a good shot.
Of course he want’s the smaller GSP over the bigger JBJ. Fans can argue all they want that Silva has fought and beat 205r’s but the fights at 205 were against fighters on the downside of their career. I’m sure GSP would beat many has-beens in the 185 division as well. Once Silva fights a top 5 in the L.H. division and GSP gets a couple of declining M.W. then talk about a SUPERFIGHT. To have GSP fight Silva after one fight back from major reconstructive knee surgery is B.S. That would be like having Bendo fight Georges.
if this superfight happens…it’ll sell out dallas stadium…and will be the biggest draw in UFC history…as a fan i wanna see it…
You guys say gsp has really good wrestling but you can’t compare it to Olympic level wrestling such as dan Henderson and chael sonnen you also say he is elusive gsp has been finished before and almost got finished during his fight with condit. I’m not saying he can’t win but Anderson’s silvas skill surpasses anybody besidegsp has faced
GSP KOed in the 2nd round.
