Velasquez Says Overeem's Title Ambitions Need To Go Through Him | UFC NEWS
“I think he would want to fight him (Overeem) more, just because of the words they’ve been throwing back and forth, but he has to fight me first. Right now, I’m expecting for the rematch to happen, so that’s what I’m thinking about. If the UFC tells me different, then I gotta prepare for something else, but right now, it’s a for sure thing that I’m gonna be fighting dos Santos on December 29th.”
Former UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez, recently told AXS.Tv’s Ron Kruck that Overeem’s path needs to go through him.

Sorry dude reem and Lesnsrs numbers on New Year’s Eve was ****ing ridiculous and if its Jds and the reem someone who will actually trade with reem who is going 2 years of anybody actually engaging him on the standup and I mean standing with him not just setn up shots for a takedown like werdum and sorry Brock u r a freak on nature and hell of a wrestler and was learning mma overall but u still had no standup compared to the real full time guys I want to see the reem vs jds
Bring on the “I hate overeem” comments. Man I want to see this fight more than the rematch. Yeah Cain will lose once again so why don’t they just skip the formalities and go straight to the fight with the two best heavyweights in the world?

I’d love to see Cain fight Overeem..That’d be a good fight..
JDS will knock Overeem out. If anything, Overeem will go for a TDs during their fight. Overeem is a beast! His chin is weak though his defense is awesome so he usually keeps his chin guarded well. He doesn’t do well against very aggressive opponents though. His Achilles heel is a fast aggresive opponent with power. That’s JDS. Watch Overeem’s fight against Badr Hari, who destroyed him in K-1. Watch his fight against Gokhan Saki and Tyrone spong aswell, he won those two fights but the Spong fight was close and the Saki fight was awesome and really close fight but saki’s previous fight got his arm injured and Reem just broke that arm with a kick yo. shit was insane. Saki is also alot smaller too, so overeem’s speed weakness was really shown there as saki came in swingin and was able to close that distance to get his shots. SO yah. My prediction. Mad long.
but you forgot to mention the first fight with Badr Hari.. Overeem beat Hari down in that fight.
Overeem vs cain for the number 1 spot, it makes sense. Send the best in there against jds so he can light whoever up!
Cain will get the rematch & beat JDS for the title. Overeem will have to fight JDS before fighting Cain for the belt (I actually would want to see Overeem fight Fabricio first). Overeem will beat JDS. Overeem will lose to Cain in the title bout. Just my opinion. If im wrong.Talk shit then.

jds is untouchable at the moment, be it cain ,overeem or who-ever. ufc should bring cormier into the mix as soon as possible, that guy has a lot of potential

I say let Reem fight Velasquez to see who gets the title shot. I think Reem would easily run through Cain, and then have a great fight with Junior.
Either way, I just want to see The Reem and Junior fight. Everyone loves a good stand-up war, and I think that would be a fight for the ages. It would also run huge PPV numbers.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Velasquez/Reem for the contender slot. JDS needs a fight though and Reem doesn’t deserve a shot, not immedietly at least.. I think JDS/Overeem would be a sell out, probably fight of the year but Reem needs to prove he can win without the juice and to be fair Lesnar wasn’t really top quality.
