Velasquez Picks JDS over Overeem | Wants Rematch

“It’s going to be a tough one. I think in the clinch and in the distance, obviously the kicking range, Overeem will have a better shot. But, in the punching range, dos Santos can win the fight whenever.I hope Dos Santos wins so I can have a rematch. I think he will win, he is an athletic guy, his boxing is really good”

He better watch out! Frank Mir might kick his ass!
As long as he keeps it standing, Mir has no chance. Mir got a little lucky against Big Nog.
Mir got beat up that fight. He looks over the hill to me.
I don’t know about “no” chance, Mir did to Kongo what Cain couldn’t do, drop him with a punch.
If someone in the Midwest can get struck by lightning 7 times over the course of their life, then Mir can get lucky twice.
Even though he was lucky it was an impressive victory.
i tihnk jds is gonna beat reem, but reem is a monster jds is just faster imo and i think thats gonna make a big diff
I got confidence in JR,just I have confidence in Cain. I would love to see Junior/Cain 2,I feel as fans we got ripped in the first fight. Not that I’m not glad for Junior,I just know Cain has alot more to offer!
+1
I’m a HUGE Cain fan but it’s impossible not to love Junior as well! For me it was kinda win win (though I would have preferred Cain won) but I was still happy for JDS! I concur as well, Cain had a lot more to offer. I think he just went with the wrong game or didn’t implement his early enough. A rematch would be the shit! I could see either guy win! (as long as Cain doesn’t stand in front of him again haha)
If he wants a rematch he might want to wear a helmet
going with JDS cuz his volume boxing should be better than overeems stand still and throw ones strategy lol
He uses that strategy against wrestlers so he can stuff takedowns.
I know that, cause in his muay thai/K1 matches he does throw combinations.
Possibly yes. But you’re giving Overeem no chance at all and that’s bullshit. It’s a 50-50 percent chance, one of them is going to get KO’d.
You know Freddie Mercury wrote that song talking about black people right?
I agree with cain
overeem >
no way JDS takes it, overeem all day
im hoping for Overeem vs Mir…….Overeem has to beware of the overhand right that caught Cain, Mir just needs to get the fight on the ground…..
I love all of the uneducated people here, saying that Juniors striking is faster and better than Overeem.
Look, I love Junior to death, but Overeem won the K-1 GP and that is the premier striking tournament in the world.
So until Junior does something on that level, when it comes to “fact”, then Overeem is the better striker because of his accomplishments.
However, that doesn’t mean in reality he is ABSOLUTELY better, it is just a matter of fact. We will just have to watch this fight to find out.
he has to win a k-1 title to prove something? no not really there chump. just watch footage. JDS is faster. its not rocket science. maybe for brain dead people like you it might seem like it, but for us people with properly functioning brains, we can easily see the difference in striking speed. JDS is faster.
go back to school. smarten up. thanks.
This is MMA, but these two come from a striking background, so it’s very likely it will be a stand-up fight. When it goes that way Overeem has the more extensive arsenal and experience.
You can deny that all you want, but those are the facts. And denying K-1 is the best you could get in the striking game proves you know nothing about martial arts.
Boxing is just two hands dude…See? you don’t understand it.
Cain kinda looks like Rua. Lol. Well, JDS got this. JDS vs Cain 2.
JDS by KO against Reem and Cain in a rematch..
Ofcourse Velazquez says JDS will win, he couldn’t have lost to the second best heavyweight right?
And JDS can win, but if anyone can beat him right now it’s Overeem. Overeem is the better allround striker, he has more in his arsenal than JDS has. He did win the K-1 GP, and that’s no joke. JDS has never faced a complete striker like Overeem.
People on here saying JDS has faster hands might be mistaken. Overeem does move around a bit weird, it looks slow but it really isn’t. His handspeed is just as fast as JDS’.
If I were Overeem I would attack the legs first and work my way up from there. JDS doesn’t check the legkicks too well.
Your auld wan agrees
We’ll see. Most of my predictions are right.
And once again I won’t mind if JDS keeps the belt. I’m sure if JDS knocks Overeem out you’ll throw it in my face like you know it all and that will be funny cause that’s a 50-50 prediction.
JDS can KO anyone at any time, even when he’s not doing well there’s always the chance he lands one. That’s a talent he’s born with.
haha paper champs..I’m sorry I’m trying to take it serious up untill the paper champ comment. Silva is just a legit hall of famer accept it and get used to it.
Dude stop it…You and I know both he isn’t the only one that ever KO’d his opponent with a jab. It was a legit KO by a legit championAnderson Silva the Hall Of Famer
If JDS wins he won’t be losing for a while.
