It was reported earlier today that Sergio Pettis, the younger brother of newly crowned lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, had signed a multi-fight contract with the UFC.  While the UFC has yet to officially announce this, it has been confirmed that the younger Pettis has an organizational debut bout lined up against Vaughan Lee.

The Brazilian media outlet Globo first reported that the UFC and both fighters were working on this bout.  It has since been confirmed with sources close to both fighters that verbal agreements have been made but that official contracts have not been signed.

Pettis (9-0) is undefeated in his young but busy professional career.  The bantamweight earned the RFA flyweight title in June, and most recently submitted James Porter in a North American Fighting Championship event in Milwaukee this past Saturday.

His reported opponent, Vaughan Lee (13-9), holds a 2-3 record in the UFC with wins over Motonobu Tezuka and the famed MMA fighter, Norifumi ‘Kid’ Yamamoto.

UFC 167 is an extremely stacked card that features a headlining bout between welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre defending his title against Johny Hendricks.  Also on the card will be bouts between Rashad Evans and Chael Sonnen, Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem, Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald, Josh Koscheck and Tyron Woodley, and more.  Though the Pettis-Lee fight or the bout order have not been officially announced, it is likely that Pettis and Lee will fight as one of the preliminary bouts.

UFC 167 will take place on November 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
