Uyenoyama out, Tim Elliott in against John Dodson at UFC on Fox 3

By Micah Hinchliffe:
As part of the growing division of the flyweights in 2012, Zuffa has signed top flyweight prospect Tim Elliott according to UFC.com. Elliott who is 8-2-1 in MMA has been picked to replace former bantamweight Darren Uyenoyama against the hard-hitting TUF 14 winner John Dodson.

No reason for Uyenoyama’s replacement has been released as of yet although the official fight card has changed on UFC.com to show Dodson vs. Elliott on May 6th. At 5’7” Elliott will be one of the tallest flyweights in the UFC so far and will be in the fourth aired flyweight bout (following Louis Gaudinot vs John Lineker on the same card).

Elliott is coming off of a win at RFA 2 – Yvel vs Alexander where he impressively defeated Josh Rave with a ‘Bravo Choke’ at 0:28 of the first round. Also with a KO win over Jens Pulver, Elliott has a lot of credentials coming into his UFC debut. Yet John “The Magician” Dodson, a man who many believe will soon be in contention for the first flyweight title, is no easy fight for anyone in the new 125 pound division.

The latest UFC on FOX 3 card:

MAIN CARD (FOX)

Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller

Johny Hendricks vs. Josh Koscheck

Alan Belcher vs. Rousimar Palhares

Pat Barry vs. Lavar Johnson

PRELIMINARY CARD (FUEL TV)

Tony Ferguson vs. Michael Johnson

John Dodson vs. Tim Elliott

John Hathaway vs. Pascal Krauss

Louis Gaudinot vs. John Lineker

Danny Castillo vs. John Cholish

Dennis Bermudez vs. Pablo Garza

Johnny Bedford vs. Nick Denis

Mike Massenzio vs. Karlos Vemola

Whenever I think of ‘John Dodson’, all I think is he should change his name to ‘Dod-cunt’ Sounds good imo.

I do think that he will be fighting for the title soon enough though.

  2. Edger says:

Fuck Dodson. I hate that little bitch
