Urijah Faber Not Happy With All The Changes But Ready To Perform Against Barao In Canada | UFC NEWS

By Evan Stoumbelis
Urijah Faber talked with reporters today about what it has been like dealing with all the changes to his title fight. Originally Faber was slated to face longtime rival Dominick Cruz at UFC 148 on July 7th in Las Vegas, but Cruz had to drop out with an ACL tear; Now Faber will be facing Renan Barao in Calgary at UFC 149 on July 21st. The reason behind the date switch, Jose Aldo dropping out of the UFC 149 main event against Eric Koch due to a knee injury.
“I’m really not happy about all the changes, but there is nothing I can do. The worst part about it is I had a lot of people coming to support me (In Las Vegas) because I had been promoting the same date for the last 4 months.”
Faber was supposed to be part of the co-main event at UFC 148, with Sonnen vs Silva II as the main event, now with the switch he and Barao are the main event at UFC 149. “I was really happy to be a part of that, but my event is going to be awesome as well. Barao and myself have a chance to be fight of the year.”
Below is the rest of the UFC 149 fight card:

Yeah this switch does suck donkey dick. The original card of Silva vs Sonnen and Faber vs Cruz would have been two sick fights. I was okay with the switch of Barao for Cruz on that same card but now Faber and Barao on 149 a shitty card…Damn you Dana!
I can’t wait Faber has one of the biggest hearts a fighter can have loads of people saying he is going to get his ass kicked. Barao is awesome but the only person he has beat in your same league as Faber is jorgenson and that was by decsi
Yeah, well we aren’t happy either! Lost the title fight, lost the co mai, now an interim title, and no real co main event. Good thing e Stampede will have just left, so people are already entertained fatigued a bit.this is a sad major introduction to what will no doubt be a lucrative new Canadian venue. I beg UFC for one more big fight in there! Come on!
