Dana White Breaks Silence On Overeem | Too Mad To Discuss Details

By Evan Stoumbelis:
After Alistair Overeem failed his random screening for PED’s last week with elevated testosterone levels of 14:1 which exceeds the maximum ratio of 6:1 everyone has put forth their opinion, and there has been talk of who will be Overeem’s replacement should the NSAC not allow him to fight. The one man that has been silent however, is Dana White. Dana explained in a recent interview why he had been silent on the issue, saying

“I will snap and freak out and I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to talk about it. I’m too upset about it. Seriously, I can’t talk about it.”

“Everybody gets due process. Alistair Overeem will have his due process with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. We’ll see what happens and we’ll go from there. When it all goes down, somebody else will speak about this. Not me.”

Dana broke the news to Mark Hunt’s Army of Doom, who had been rallying behind Hunt, and said that Mark wouldn’t be filling the slot in the main event that may or may not be filled by Overeem.

“Yes. They can keep rallying. It ain’t going to happen. I have apologized and praised Mark Hunt for what he’s accomplished in the situation he was in. And I think this fight with Struve is a good fight for him. If he beats Struve, he’ll break in and start fighting some of the top five heavyweights in the world. Anything can happen in a fight, but in all reality, it’s not fair to Mark Hunt either, to throw the guy right in there with Junior Dos Santos for a title shot. The guy worked his way up, he beats Struve, he fights somebody in the top five. I guarantee you this, he beats Struve, his next fight will be someone in the top five that can get him closer to that title shot.”

Overeem’s NSAC hearing is set for April 24th.

  1. otter says:

Pretty sure the numbers were 14 to 1. Might want to edit.

  2. Xaninho says:

Yo Evan Stoumbelis…You mixed up the testosterone levels..16:1 was Chael Sonnen, 14:1 was Overeem. No need to make it any worse than it already is.

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Lol it’s all salt in the wound now!

      • Xaninho says:

hahaha yeah I’m so pissed off. Was really looking forward to this fight!

Ah well bellator65 and saturdays UFC was pretty good…I think UFC is going to sign Eduardo Dantas once his contract with bellator expires. That dude is champion material!

        • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Did he beat Alexa Villa in the tournament last year?

I want Hector Lombard to join the UFC. That guy is probably on roids though. I’m so skeptical of everyone now. I wasn’t always so cynical.

  3. Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

why hasnt ufc cut him if hes so mad?????

  4. jbeamazing says:

all the overoid fans say cheal see what cheal did cheal did this and that overeem should get special treatment blah blah
Cheals usage is from a doctor and he still got suspended for a year because he didn’t get the commission the letter in time (remember that part too) overeem was a light heavy weight turd that got owned by everyone he was about as good as his brother and then became the biggest man I’ve ever seen
Now look at a pic of your hero then look at a pic of the bad guy cheal notice how cheal’s head never grew 40 pounds like overroid’s horse meet does that right fools

    • Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

fyi chael still hasnt submitted for exemption so as for as NSAC and ufc is concerned his TRT use is self prescribed.
only a handfull of fighters have actually filed for exemption.
the begs to question the legitimacy of trt use and whether they have bent doctors giving them a prescription because they asked for it.
in order to get exemption you need to go through 5 special tests which test the legitimacy of the need for TRT

so basically, its no different and also chael was under licence, overoid is not which means he could test clean upon application and potentially avoid suspension

    • Xaninho says:

A doctor doesn’t elevate his patients testosterone levels to 16:1. Sonnen got owned in 33% of his fights, and all of a sudden he comes in bulked up against Silva and manages to stay alive until the last round.

Just watch the pictures of the roided Sonnen that fought Silva and the possibly clean Sonnen that fought Bisping. Does he look the same in both occassions? NO so you should shut it before you embarrass yourself more than you already did.

And nobody is saying Overeem should get special treatment. But an equal treatment would be fair.

DW is on Sonnen’s nuts even after getting caught with higher(16:1) testosterone levels than Overeem, so everyone who isn’t a delusional Sonnen fanboy is wondering why DW is so mad at Overeem all of a sudden.

  5. jason says:

Not fair to Hunt to throw him in with Dos Santos but Lesnar got a title shot after 3 pro fights?? What a stupid reasoning Dana. Give your head a shake brother!

    • dana black says:

brock lesnar situation was only for promotion since he was in the wwe and had fame dana white thought that he would make more money putting him!….. hes only in it for the money.. or maybe…there just weren’t a lot of heavyweights back then.. idk just a thought.

    • Nick says:

Yea good point but after his last fight the fans fell in love with him but he aint ready for JDS

  6. They’re (Dana and team) so biased they let Fael sonnen fight regardless and slapped him on the wrist post fight. This is unfair judging.

    • BowtieAssassin says:

To be fair the only thing Dana and the UFC did was freeze Chaels contract, everything else was done by the commission.

  7. mike says:

I Don’t want to see overem fired but I do want to see him pulled from the fight. But then again he should not fight again like the other guys dayna got rid of for the same thing

  8. Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

who has dana got rid of for roids?

  9. king says:

Dana, why can’t Mark Hunt get his title ahot. Did Brock earn his 2 title shots. Your full of shit. You just want to get paid setting up what people wanna see but not what the fighter Mark Hunt deserves. Bitch move.

    • Twatty Mc.Twatface says:

      surely you are contradicting yourself
” You just want to get paid setting up what people wanna see but not what the fighter Mark Hunt deserves. Bitch move.”

well if he was setting up what people want to see he would have put mark hunt on as most people want that fight

    • Boss says:

@ king….man wtf is wrong with setting up what people want to see? Who gives a shit about hunt nobody wants to see him get dismantled by a much more talented jds

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I think people who want to see Mark Hunt fight JDS are in the minority and those who think Mir deserves it are in the majority.

I’m not knock you but to everyone who uses Brock as an excuse should think about this…. Anderson Silva a relative nobody fought ONE PERSON (The Crippler) before getting his title shot against Rich Franklin. It’s a combination of politics, money(promotion), luck and contender status. Hunt currently has no claim to any of these currently since the HW division has never been more stacked.

      • BowtieAssassin says:

That’s true but if Leban had won he would of got the title shot, so Anderson destroying him as easily as he did it kind of make sence.

I would still love to see Hunt fight JDS though, in a stand up fight Hunt always has a chance.

  10. Overeems TRT doctor says:

He messed up Brocks carreer by introducing a roider to the UFC HW class. Thats just messed up
