UFC Vet Paul Kelly Arrested in Drug-Sting | MMA NEWS

The Liverpool Echo reports that former UFC fighter Paul “Tellys” Kelly was been arrested Monday, and charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs.
Kelly was one of three assailants apprehended due to the drug-sting in which 14 search warrants were executed. Cannabis plants, heroin, firearms, ammunition, and large amounts of money were all confiscated in the series of raids that included several suspects and locations in addition to Paul Kelly.
Heading up the investigation is Detective Inspector Mark Kameen. He stated, “This operation was part of our ongoing crackdown on criminals involved in the illegal drugs trade. These arrests demonstrate the importance of the community supplying us with information so we can take action.”
According to laws in the UK, possession of a Class A drug, like heroin, with intent to supply, can carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. While the maximum sentence for possession of Cannabis, which is a Class B drug, with intent to supply can carry a 14-year imprisonment. Neither outcome looks good for Kelly, who could be facing the full extent of the law.
Paul Kelly, who is now 27, was released by the UFC following the loss he suffered at UFC 126 to Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Since his departure from the UFC last year, Kelly has only been in competition one time, losing a decision to Ryan Healy in Super Fight League’s second promotion last month.
Kelly, who was once one of England’s most promising up-and-comers, now faces a long life in jail, and a newfound fight, for his freedom.

ASs far as Paul Kelly goes I bet he doesn’t do one day in jail. Look at CHEAT Sonnen he defrauded a federally insured institution ie: bank which is major FELONY and he didn’t do 5 minutes in jail. Oh wait Kelly isn’t going to have the Fertitas and Dana writing letters (bribing the authorities) and showing up to all his hearings. oops maybe Kelly is in trouble
