UFC President Says If You Didn’t Like Benavidez vs. Johnson He Doesn’t Want Your Money | UFC NEWS
“It doesn’t matter what we do, how many fights in a row we put on, or how these guys perform. I was reading Twitter tonight and these people were ripping on the flyweights. If you didn’t like that flyweight fight, please, and I’m begging you, don’t buy another UFC pay-per-view again. Don’t ever buy another one again; I don’t want your money. You’re a moron, you don’t like fighting and you don’t appreciate great talent or heart if you didn’t like that flyweight fight. That kid fought his ass off tonight, look at (Benavidez’s) face, going after a guy who is incredibly talented and picking him apart and moving. He never gave up and went five straight rounds. When I get on Twitter and I see that stuff, I get crazy man. Please, please, please, those of you that said that, I don’t want your money. I wasn’t surprised, I was horrified by the booing. I tell these guys in the back that after the weigh-ins are over and the way that this relationship works is that these guys are our partners. You know we go in and do this and that and everything else and these guys go out and they deliver. Every fight you’re going to see in the UFC, two guys aren’t going to run into each other and just start swinging like mad men. These two guys worked their entire life to get to this point and it’s a five-round title fight. If they can get the knockout or the submission quick, sure they’re going to go for it. But the guys are so talented that you have the world champion right here and the second best guy in the world. It’s insane; it drives me crazy.”
If you didn’t like the UFC 152 co-main event last weekend that crowned the first ever UFC 125 pound champion, than Dana White doesn’t want you to ever buy another pay-per-view from the UFC again.
The UFC president went off on the topic during Saturday nights Post fight press conference after reporters asked him to respond to the live crowds booing, during Johnson vs. Benavidez.

Dude I love mma and the UFC and Johnson and Jo b r obviously as good as it gets skill wise but it was just lame watching that fight and I feel the same way about boxing under 140 u wanna see a dog are a **** fight for entertainment not Chinese fighting fish just saying

Dana’s an idiot. He thought frank Mir’s fight with Roy Nelson was boring. That fight wasn’t that great. It looked like a sparring or boxing match. Johnson doesn’t try to finish. Hell even his corner told him to fight
I didn’t buy this card anyway. JBJ is scum who wont get my money and any fight under 145 just isn’t worth it to me. I don’t want to watch meth’d up hummingbirds dance around for 3-5 rounds. I want to be impressed.

I love the fly weight division, lots of talent and incredible speed and stamina that you won’t get in any other division however, Johnson had great speed, awesome footwork and fantastic technic but non of that was ever put together to finish or dominate benavidez. He worked hard for the win but it wasn’t a fight and I don’t really care what Dana says, if that kinda strategy continues from Johnson he won’t get a fan base that a champion deserves.
I thought that was pretty good fight. Split decision? I don’t think so. Johnson had that fight all the way. Benavidez did put a valiant effort. But they got it right by awarding Grant vs Dunham Fight of the Night. That was a fun battle to watch. You don’t see that often these days. It’s either too one sided, or boring as hell.
Agreed. I thought the fight was boring and I’ve been watching the UFC since #2. It was a boring fight period. Hey Dana, last I checked you only own 10% of the company. The guys who own the other 90% might not take to kindly if us fans start taking you up on your offer.
That’s gotta be the stupidest thing a sports promoter could ever say. I’ve never seen him so defensive. He needs a holiday or something. Canadian fans should be happy they got some pretty good wins overall on the whole card.
Agree 100%. The Benavidez vs. Johnson was an awesome fight displaying great MMA talent for both fighters. People who “boo” cause they don’t understand or have respect for what MMA is about shouldn’t be watching the sport. It’s MMA meaning Mixed Martial Arts. It’s not just about striking and swinging for the fences and it’s not like they didn’t go at it the entire 5 rounds.
All I know is Dana openly b!tches about the fights and styles of fighting he doesn’t like.
