UFC President Explains His Willingness To Do Anything To Get Stephens Out Of Jail | UFC NEWS

“I’ve seen crazier (expletive) than this. Floyd Mayweather got to decide when he went to jail. But this kid on an assault charge couldn’t come out and fight today when he would have gone back to jail, I would have bailed him out, I would have flew him to Des Moines, Iowa to face the charges down there. I was willing to do anything and they dragged me out and played games with me all day.”

“There’s no doubt he’s responsible for the situation, but again he’s got a completely different story. We all have different stories when we’re in trouble, but I was trying to help him.”

“It’s a big deal to him. This kid isn’t Jon Jones or Rampage. Do you know what losing this purse means to a kid like Jeremy Stephens, it’s a huge blow. This is how these guys make a living, this is how they feed their families. He spent money to get to this fight, money he probably didn’t have and now he’s really screwed cause the fight didn’t happen.”

“Jeremy’s in a whole other world of trouble. That guy might be in Des Moines, Iowa for the next two years. I’m telling you I’ve never seen a situation where a guy couldn’t get out on bail for an assault charge. He didn’t kill three people, he didn’t murder 20 people in three states, he’s not wanted for any horrible crimes, it’s an assault charge,” said White.

“He’s in big trouble, so I don’t know what’s going to happen to Jeremy.”

Terrible situation. Hope it works out for him. Being charged with assault and battery is no joke. I can speak from experience from when I was younger. It’s just not worth it.~Bob’O

  2. HerpADerp says:

It’s easy to say “it’s not worth it” after it’s done. Rational thought seldom comes into play in times of anger.

    • Bob'O says:

HerpAtwerp, Actually it’s called being young and learning from your mistakes you dumb ass. Shut your self-righteous pie hole bro. ~Bob’O

      • Mayor of Deviance says:

You’re the only one being self-righteous. He wasn’t insulting you either. Clearly rational thought very seldomly comes through your head.

        • Bob'O says:

Yeah, Hide behind your fake name you gutless turd. You’re too stupid to comprehend rational thought.

Now get back to your deviant lifestyle you sicko. ;) ~Bob’O

  3. Andrew Heron says:

Let him rot in jail, shouldn’t let him out . Would you let me out if I were in jail… don’t think so

  4. Don Gwinn says:

Uh, I see another problem for Stephens. I don’t know anything at all about his situation, the charge, the warrant, or the circumstances, but if I were sitting where he’s sitting, I wouldn’t be excited in a happy way about having Dana White negotiating with the police/sheriff/court/whoever he says he’s been dealing with. It kinda sounds like these were the kind of negotiations where Dana calls people “bro” and says “fuckin'” a lot, and it doesn’t sound like it went very well, and now Dana’s basically trashing these people in public, accusing them of malfeasance and dishonesty.

When he then predicts that Stephens is “going to have a rough time” when they get their hands on him, I think, well, yeah. They don’t like him? Maybe they don’t like him because he left their jurisdiction with a warrant and then it turned out he had a fast-talking rich guy with a dirty mouth who wanted to throw his clout and his money around to get his boy some special treatment.

    • Chris says:

      “Special treatment”? You mean bail?

    • The Truth says:

If he has a warrant for assault and battery or whatever, he needs to deal with it. That said, if you spend some time watching Court TV or are familiar with legal proceedings you will begin to notice that the D.A.’s office can be every bit as malicious and dishonest as the people that stand accused.

I’m not even saying you’re wrong about Dana’s “help”, I would just suggest to anyone to do your best to stay as far away from that kind of mess as possible. Make good choices and don’t place yourself in potentially bad situations.
