UFC President Dana White Open To A Diaz vs. Condit Rematch

“I know (Georges. St. Pierre) wanted that Diaz fight bad, but it’s not going to be Diaz so he better get angry with Carlos Condit or focus on Carlos Condit or whatever he needs to do. Carlos Condit won this fight. No matter how much Georges and Nick hate each other, Carlos Condit won, and I think the fans are mad at the way Carlos Condit fought. Too f*cking bad. He came in with a game plan and stuck to it and won. You know what’s funny man, is that when he said that, I was thinking the same thing. It’s crazy, but. I was thinking it after the fight. You know, people are bitching and thinking it was close or whatever, we can do that fight again before GSP comes back. It depends on Carlos too, he’s really gotta say, and Nick’s gotta say I want to fight him again too.”

UFC president Dana White told the media at Saturday Night’s UFC 143 post-fight press conference that he is open to a rematch between Condit and Diaz if the two parties agree.

A Nick Diaz vs. Carlos Condit Rematch? Is it deserved, would you want it?

Sounds off guys!

  1. phace says:

    It would be nice but I doubt it will happen before the Condit vs. GSP fight.

  2. I can understand why Dana and the UFC would want a rematch. GSP is going to be out for a while, and the crowd was unsatisfied with the fight, so its a chance to make more $$ on another event. It makes sense, but I believe that when Diaz starting whining and complaining like the fans were doing all fight, then he lost his chance for a rematch. He knows better than anyone else not to leave it in the judges hands, and he was more than content to try and taunt Condit into fighting him, instead of actually fighting him. Condit earned this victory with a solid gameplan, and solid execution of it, and he has earned the right to move on from the big baby that is Diaz.

    • spiritsplice says:

      +100

    • CARLOSVSGSP says:

      +10000

      I agree with you. Diaz had every opportunity in the fight to try and finish it. I didn’t see Diaz throwing spinning back fists, and spinning elbows. What I saw was Condit fighting smart and trying to pick his spots to find the fight ending blow. Condit WAS trying to end the fight.

      Why didn’t Diaz start trying to take Carlos down when his game plan wasn’t working? Instead he was talking with his mouth and throwing his hands in the air. I don’t call that fighting!

      Diaz lost, period. Condit is the better fighter.

      Now lets see Condit stomp some GSP ass!

      • DontBeScaredHomie says:

        LOLLLL condit was trying to end the fight? I guess turning your back and literally spiriting away isn’t trying to finish open your eyes kid Diaz won 1,2,5 Rogan even went back rewatched the fight and said it too quit hating faggot

  3. "H"BOMB says:

    diaz lost fair and square let the st pierre fight happen and then go from there

    • Michael says:

      He did lose fair and square, but it takes two to fight and Condit did not want to fight. He wanted to score points and survive. That is the way MMA has become, guys will talk about being finishers and leaving it in the cage but the truth is they just need the W to continue their career track.
      I for one, was totally unsatisfied with the main event. I picked Condit before the fight but I was very disappointed in his avoid confrontation game-plan.

      • spiritsplice says:

        Tell it to Ali. Trading like Bj did just makes you stupid. Tough is nice but better to not get hit at all ala Bones, Anderson, etc.

        • b_lum says:

          You’re a fucking moron if you’re comparing condits bitch ass performance to a jones or spider performance… jones and spider both take the fight to their oppnents… condit ran for 25 minutes, contrary to all the talk coming from condits mouth. He didn’t bury anyone, he just point fought his way to a W.

        • Dig says:

          Dude, Anderson stalle a 5 round fight at UFC 112. Condit was moving backwards almost the entire fight, but the one eating shots the entire fight was Nick.

        • A..G 206 says:

          yeah but bones ala anderson finish and actually attack, condit lost, 1,2 and 5.

        • da-jack says:

          Finally someone w/some sense!!! I dont believe u can WIN a championship going ass-backwards!! Seems like those were the same type of judges tht have given mayweather some unwarranted W’s. Im sorry but thts not the type of fights tht I want to watch and/or pay $$ for. Thts why I liked the ufc so much more than boxing, Dana wasnt gonna stand for it……I was wrong about tht though. Gameplan or not, for a Championship Belt, its about the guy who “WANTS IT” MORE, whose willing to attack MORE than RETREAT. Come on Dana, I thought U knew what it was really about. Looks like the judges need some coaching on wht the fans feel is a deserving champion, not who out-points the other while in retreat mode!!

      • kenji says:

        truthfully, you got to admit, yeah condit did run ala muhammad ali, but the crowd did get to see what true martial art athleticism is. condits tactics were questionable only to the viewers but he truley did out punch, and out skilled nick. his kicks were crisp and his marksmanship were 2nd to none. he is a truly gifted fighter and did the right thing to pull out the victory. Nick on the other hand typifies what a warrior spirit is all about and a true brawler, ala raging bull jake lomatta. it was skill versus brawler and the one with the most skill and athleticism won. as far as a rematch considering what condit had to endure pre fight episodes…lost opportune fight with bj penn, lost opportune fight with gsp, lost opportune fight with kos…i wouldnt bet on it…nick will just have t0 stand in line like he had to do…fight is over…as one said…,nick left it with the judges…move on!

  4. Nick says:

    Well if they make it in the Summer, and Georges returns in November, it can happen without a problem.

  5. CanILive says:

    i didn’t mind the fight or the way condit fought, but don’t proclaim that “it will be a war” if you have a 25 minute game plan

    • Mike says:

      hey ummm dumbass you are always supposed to go in there with a 25 or 15 minute gameplan because if you dont end up finishing your opponent in the first round or second or third or fourth you need to have something that helping you win. If you noticed Nick Diaz doesnt have a glass jaw so he knew it was going to be hard to finish him and he did land some solid shots. Shows how much you would suck at fighting because you dont obviously know much about it.

    • Jeff says:

      “when he swings, I’m getting the hell out of the way… I’ll even turn my back and run if I have to, I’m just gonna get a kick in from distance and maybe a jab and then get the fuck outta there and try to get me some 10-9’s!!!”

      Pre-fight hype that might not put asses in the seats.

      • I precisely wished to thank you extremely considerably yet again. I’m not certain the items that I may have accomplished without the type of creative concepts discussed by you directly on such region. It seemed to be a extremely challenging issue for me, but coming across a specialised approach you managed that took me to weep with gladness. Now i’m pleased for the data and as properly , hope that you know what a fantastic job your are doing teaching several others by way of the use of a web site. A lot more than likely you’ve never got to know all of us.

  6. mo says:

    It wasn’t the war I was expecting but it was a very close fight that could have been judged either way.

    Nick pushed the pace. Condit countered and wouldn’t let Nick push him up against the fence.

    Carlos fought the smart fight and didn’t get lured into Nick’s traps.

    I would like to see a rematch if possible.

  7. CanILive says:

    i would love to see a rematch, and definitely want to see nick try and pull him to the ground a bit earlier

  8. banks says:

    Id like to see a rematch but if diaz wins does that mean rubber match? i think diaz should fight kos then winner or loser of condit gsp.. or bj even. i think rematch is really disrespectful to condit

  9. Josh Douchechek says:

    No fucking way. Are we gonna now have a rematch of every damn close fight? Condit clearly won, stats show it and he fought a smart fight. Diaz is a retarded cry baby and can retire, good riddance.

  10. Ethan says:

    My analysis of the fight is this: (not that anyone asked)

    Carlos Condit proved that while he says he is a fighter, he is also a competitor willing to formulate game plans in order to win…

    Nick Diaz proved that he is a fighter and will not adapt to accomodate change..

    If I was in Nicks corner after the third round I woulda told him (he wouldn’t have listened) he needs to drag him down because he’s not engaging with you. Nick was/is more than capable of beating Condit even with the strategy Condit was using.. he just needs to look at fighting like its more than walking forward with his fists flying

  11. slacker says:

    With all the ups and downs Condit has had, opponents being changed on him last minute, I think it would be foolish for him to give up his shot at GSP. Diaz had his chance and lost. He was badly outstruck – not even close. Condit should take the fight with GSP. Diaz and Condit can fight again another time. But it will not be a “re – match”. It will be a second fight. Diaz needs to take this time to process his feelings, mature as a man, and accept the loss.

  12. magoo says:

    To many other fights to see,not interested in a rematch,Condit won and Nick retired like a little baby bitch….end of story!

    • slacker says:

      That’s true. He had a padded Strikeforce streak anyways against 2nd tier fighters. Where was Gracie when Nick needed him in his corner? He is supposed to be your head coach! Instead, you have your boxing coach and baby brother telling you that you are up 3 – 1 at the end of the 4th?!??? What the hell is that? Where was his coach when he was going into the championship round, and the most important one of his MMA career?!!!? If Nick was smart, he would drop that guy and move on.

  13. MMAnalyst says:

    um, yes – please set up the rematch – they have lots of time before GSP comes back and it was an important fight with big implications – why not? Gimme Koscheck vs Hendricks to see who fights for the title next – and the winner of Sanchez/Ellenberger can fight the loser of Diaz/Condit 2. Or any fight match-ups of all those dudes could work, really… haha

  14. Leeroy brown says:

    Condit deserved the win in most fights there is an aggressor and a counter fighter so which ever one does a better job wins,It should be George’s v Condit then when Condit loses that then rematch them again I am not a Diaz fan but I think given a rematch he will smother Condit on Ko him.

  15. MMAnalyst says:

    Neither one looked ready to dethrone GSP however…

  16. johnny says:

    i want to see a rematch, but after condit beats GSP.
    he won and deserves that fight first. let nick get the next shot after that fight.
    or make GSP fight diaz after he loses to condit. either way.

  17. mason says:

    I would love to see a rematch. I doubt Diaz would run around like he is chasing a moa around the yard. I think this time he would take him down in the first minute and submit him in the third minute. I am tired of the Jackson fighters and their lay and pray or runaway and pray game plans. I guess it’s part of MMA so it is what it is but I wouldn’t feel good about fighting that way (and winning) myself. So it goes.

  18. SC00B420 says:

    Hell yea I want a rematch! I had Diaz winning the first 3 rounds and gave teh last 2 to Condit. They DEFINATELY need to make this fight happen.

  19. WOLFZILLA says:

    That was some bad judging on that fight it was clear that nick won. Gsp got his rematch after getting knocked out by matt serra why not diaz? So hopefully they fight again….

    • Mucks says:

      It wasn’t bad judging it was just bad fighting. Nothing actually happened in 25 minutes of fighting. A few leg kicks, a couple jabs and a bunch of ‘air ball’ spinning back fists.

  20. Gota says:

    No one on here has focused on the fact that the UFC is quickly becoming what boxing has become– boring. Condit may have out executed Diaz and won(I didn’t have it that way–Diaz 3-2), but it’s boring as hell to see one fighter run from the other for five rounds just to secure a “w”. Say what you want about Diaz, but every fight I’ve seen him in, he puts it all out there. He FIGHTS!

  21. gil says:

    condit won fair and scared

  22. joshuah says:

    I love nick, I think he won the fight, but condit got the nod! Carlos has gone above & beyond the last several months. He deserves his shot @ gsp.

  23. SC00B420 says:

    Hell yeah I want a rematch! I had Diaz winning the first 3 rounds and gave teh last 2 to Condit. They DEFINATELY need to make this fight happen. I know what you guyts are thinking that oh he must be a hardcore Diaz fan, not I am just a fan. I have been folling MMA religiously for the past 7 years. I love both of these fighters equally because for the past 6 years they have both performed at an amazing level. You can say what you want about Diaz’s behavior out of the cage but he is an absolute beast once that cage door shuts. Condit fights the same way always leaving everything inside the cage. Anyways I would love to see what adjustments they would both make inside the cage for a rematch.

  24. OGpinto93 says:

    First off quit talking about Ali like he ever ran from a punch like a bitch cause u sound retarded. Second fuck condits pussy leg kicks my 5 year old kicks harder. Cyborg ate Nicks legs up those were kick that score points. Condit ran period, I agree nick shouldve taken him down earlier but he still easily won 1,3 and 5 and Carlos didn’t win any 10-8 rounds so hmmm how did he win? Ufc judges don’t kno shit o ya we figured that out a long time ago huh Fucking little kids haha

  25. Trey says:

    First of all danas a bitch you don’t say shit like that about people who spent they money to watch a fight and then the fight be a bunch of bullshit and one guy ran the whole time cuz I bet if people stop watching ufc events he’d feel real stupid for saying that shit so fuck dana I thought he was cool before I heard him say that wack shit he didn’t like when anderson didn’t fight maia and anderson was playing with him but yet he likes that bullshit condit pulled thats a fucking joke and I wouldn’t want to see a rematch cause condit just go run again and people need to stop comparing what condit did to great boxers cause that shit was despicable and if the ufc gonna let fighters fight like that then the ufc’s not gonna get big as it should I know I’m not going to watch these wrestling matches and hit and run type of fights cause that not real fight and the ufc slogan “as real as it gets” that shit wasn’t real I say make diaz fight somebody that’s going to fight him cause I doubt he’s gonna retire

    • recreacionistas bogota on apríl 20th, 2012 at 2:13 know how to I create a suggestion? I feel youve acquired single thing superior at this point. Or perhaps you possibly can give us somewhat to take a look at, somewhat that would join what youre saying to individual thing tangible? Only a suggestion. Anyhow, in my language, there will not be a lot superior supply similar this.

  26. mo says:

    I wouldn’t be surprised if Condit ends up injured in the next 2 months. Setting up the inevitable match between Diaz and GSP.

  27. Trey says:

    And there ain’t shit wrong with greg jackson fighters the lady time I checked jon jones only had 2 decision victories so get off the gas with that and lenard garcia don’t follow no greg jackson gameplan it’s not him it was carlos being a puss and not fighting cuz he felt like he couldn’t beat nick diaz which really lets you know how little is pride is cuz if you’re the best you don’t need gameplan thats why anderson is the best right now unless chael had something to say about that cuz I believe thats the only person who can best anderson and I guarantee neither of them have gameplans they’re just gonna go in there and fight and if michael bisping would’ve fought anderson I dont think anyone should stand up with him thats crazy and thats michael bispings strongest asset and if he does take anderson down I don’t think he wrestling or his jujitsu is good enough to stop him from being submitted so in my retires chael had the best shot st beating anderson I’m who else had done anderson the way he did and I don’t know about anyone else but I’m ready to see a new champion or anderson needs to fight jon jones or they should go ahead and feed him george but if you wanna see anderson lose the only two people I believe can best him are chael and jon jones or nick diaz might be able too but that depends on some things

  28. Trey says:

  29. Leed says:

    Make it happen, Dana. Way too much controversy on this. Most fighters say Nick won.

  30. Inquiry says:

    Should a solid kick count as much, more, or less in scoring as a solid jab? Should a strong kick that lands count as much, more, or less as a strong punch? How much should a trip take down count? How many points should someone get if they take someone down and get their back but never really put someone in danger or never really connect with any strikes? How much should a reverse count on the ground (if any)? How much should ineffective aggression count versus being countered by someone backing up but landing blows?

  31. Walter White says:

    Why? There doesn’t need to be one. Condit won. Everyone was just pissed that GSP – Diaz isn’t happening and what everyone thought was going to be Fight Of The Year turned out to be what it was. It was still a great fight nonetheless… stop complaining. Diaz lost and lost fair.

    • Mucks says:

      How in the world was that a great fight? Sure Condit won, but in doing so he made it an awfully boring fight. Even if they rematch I’m not paying to watch it. I agree he was smart and countered and moved effectively all of that good stuff. But he is suppose to be the Natural Born Killer, and there was no Killer instinct in that fight. I was sure this would be an epic fight, but instead I just wish I would have been 3 rounds because nothing significant happened at all over 5 rounds.

    • StatsDontLie says:

      BJ averaged nearly 30 strikes each round on Diaz and he lost to Diaz because Diaz hit him with twice as many strikes. No one blamed BJ of running or avoiding fighting.

      Condit also averaged nearly 30 strikes each round on Diaz and he won because Diaz only hit him with about 20 strikes per round. Condit, the one who is being blamed for running and avoiding fighting, hit Diaz with 50% more strikes than Diaz hit him. Check the numbers. That sounds like a great counter attacking strategy to me. I watched the fight and I didn’t think it was a very close fight. I had Diaz winning one round. Condit landed two solid head kicks, probably the best strikes in the fight, and a lesser fighter would have been dropped by them. Diaz is tough there is no doubt but I can’t see him winning this fight no matter how much I play it back in my mind.

      • krafty11 says:

        most of those “strikes” were leg kicks that didnt seem to stop Diaz from going forward. If you look at head and body shots Diaz had the advantage there. But anyways, I think it was a close fight either way. If the decision went to Diaz, people would be bit-ching about it. Overall, it wasnt an exciting fight, but Carlos did have a great gameplan. Just wish he would have tried to “fight” a bit more. Lolz and not go strictly for a decision…

  32. Diaz's Pubic Hair says:

    I think Nick would do great in Dream fighting or even MFC and possibly work his way back to strike force where he’s fighting guys they picked up at a random bar before hand. The UFC ruins these shit fighters careers. Nick cant compete at this level. Look at his boy jake shields ( 15-0 before UFC 1-4 in UFC ). Nick is smart to retire to protect his legacy. He’s like fedor, as soon as he fights somebody decent it’s over. #DiazNutHuggersUnite #CarlosBeatHimIntoRetirementTho

    • krafty11 says:

      1-4 in the UFC?? has he had 5 fights yet? Must have missed those… lolz. and calling Shields and Diaz sh-t fighters shows your complete lack of mma knowledge.. have a nice day!

  33. Kali130 says:

    I’m not a Nick Diaz fan. I actually thought Nick would get killed by Condit, however, Condit proved me wrong. He literally ran for five rounds. I clearly saw him duck his head and run to the other side of the ring several times. As for as landing more strikes that’s ridiculous. He landed more leg kicks and that’s about it. Diaz blocked Condit’s kicks and made an attempt to win the fight. Condit’s best round was round four, but he did absolutely nothing to win the fight. This was worse than Floyd Mayweather running around the ring. Diaz wasn’t hurt at any point in the fight. This was a championship fight, which means you have to convincingly make an attempt to take the belt not win on points. Also what people do not know about compute box numbers is that any strike landed on any part of the body is counted, so even if a strike hit Diaz’s shoulder it would be considered a body punch. If a punch grazed his face it would have been counted as a punch to the face. To win on compute box numbers all you have to do is throw more strikes rather hard or soft. If a punch is thrown with the back arm it would be considered a power shot regardless of how hard you threw the punch. This was a good strategy if you’re into those kind of things, but I’m not. There’s a difference between being elusive and running, and what I saw Saturday was running. Elusive is Anderson Silva, Pernell Whitaker, at times Floyd Mayweather, James Toney, Roy Jones Jr. Muhammad Ali, Yuroikis Gamboa, Bernard Hopkins. That wasn’t being elusive. It was stay away from this guy because I’m going to get killed.

    • StatsDontLie says:

      Diaz completed 62 of 182 head shots (34% efficiency)
      Condit completed 55 of 196 head shots (28% efficiency)
      * Not a huge difference and Condit is blamed for not fighting even though he through more punches and tried a wide variety of strikes (including spinning back fists even though none landed).

      Diaz completed 49 of 66 body shots (74% efficiency)
      Condit completed 36 of 46 body shots (78% efficiency)
      * Not a huge difference and Condit is blamed for not fighting

      Diaz completed 6 of 10 leg shots (60% efficiency)
      Condit completed 68 of 87 leg shots (78% efficiency)
      * HUGE difference and Condit is blamed for not fighting
      * Condit set a record for leg kicks

      If leg kicks are not considered part of MMA and you remove that from the scoring then, I agree, Diaz won.

      I do believe, however, that while Condit has some minor damage to his face, it’s Nick Diaz who is hurting more today and must be covered in bruises from those leg kicks. Perhaps Condit wins on damage points since Diaz looked worse to me after the fight ended.

      • Calvin says:

        yeah i hate how people keep saying body shots and head shots are worth more than leg kicks its mma all strikes count and as far as the head shots diaz doesnt throw hard shots he throws as they say “punches in bunches” with less power but high volume so really theres not much power to his shots its just they add up quick when ur on the cage getting an ass kicking

  34. Mike McMack says:

    Condit won, end of story. No rematch is necessary, Diaz will have to earn his way back to Condit and then to GSP. I think a lot of fans like myself were caught off guard with how technical of a fight it turned out to be. Lots of us expected a brawl but in the end Condit used solid technique and footwork to pull of a decisive win.

  35. chee who says:

    Who cares about GSP vs condit

  36. chee who says:

    Its going to be a shitty fight anyways

  37. Diaz 209 $$$$$ says:

    Nick Diaz will be making his strike force come back debut in july VS Ralph Thumbburger ( some random guy Scott Coker met at a chilli’s bar and grill with zero fighting experience ). Diaz finly has a chance to get back to his winning ways with an even playing field. GO DIAZ!!!! He’s the BEST (in less competitive organizations). Diaz fan for LIFE!!!

  38. 10 dan says:

    Diaz didn’t win vs Penn, it just looked that way because we’re used to Penn dominating, and when he’s not anymore, going up and down weight classes trying to regain that dominance, everyone thinks he lost including the judges – Penn won the first two rounds and split the third if you really saw the fight. As for Condit, Diaz didn’t deserve to fight him, and was fortunate Condit had some ring rust, as for a rematch are you kidding me? Let him work his way back up like everyone else, he lucky he doesn’t go back to Strikeforce again, when he smoked weed the first time before going there. For a guy who talks like Mike Tyson and embraces Ricky Williams, Diaz is lucky to remain in the UFC. Pit him up against a rebounding Fitch or the Anvil see if he really wants to retire. Condit should face the best, not Dias, and welterweight is stacked with young untapped talent.

    • learntoread says:

      There is so much sheer ignorance within 10 Dan’s post I don’t even know where to start. It’s people like this who give MMA fans a bad name.

  39. Abe says:

    I wanna see Diaz vs Condit 2

  40. B-Wes says:

    I was really pulling for Diaz in this one but I have to admit, I’m a little impressed with Condit. He displayed great technical striking and I’ve always been a fan of the counter striking. Now with that said I have to also admit that he didn’t look like he wanted to finish the fight and I hate point fighters, but Rd. 3-5 in my opinion (up until the takedown), Diaz brought the pressure and Condit picked him apart. First two rounds it did look like he was just running away but once he loosened up he stepped up the game. As much as I had hoped for a different outcome this was Condits fight. I wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch though.

  41. Julio Figueroa says:

    i think all these tweets say it all!
    I think these tweets say it all lol

    @JoeLauzon
    I eagerly await fight metrics for this fight… I thought Diaz won that all night long.
    @TimKennedyMMA
    I HATE judges! @ufc
    @patmiletich
    That decision was an absolute joke. At best, Condit won 2 rounds.
    @Jens_Pulver
    Diaz wins via ring generalship, one moving forward, one moving
    backward. Ala delahoya vs Trinidad in my opinion, it’s 3 opinions that
    judge
    @mattlindland
    Great fight Diaz 1,2,5 Condit 3,4
    @mark_munoz
    Gr8 fight! Think Diaz 4 rounds to 1. We’ll see! #ufc143
    @TheCodyMcKenzie
    Wow really goes to show you how bad these judges suck Carlos ran the entire time
    @joshneer
    Wow. Nick got robbed 4-1 diaz. Carlos was doing the Forrest Gump #runforestrun
    @RondaRousey
    If I wanted to see a man run for 25 minutes I’d go to a track meet. Diaz is the real champ, what a bulls*** fight
    @CungLe185
    I meant Diaz rounds 1,2 & 5 and Condit 3 & 4
    @EllenbergerMMA
    You got to be kidding me…
    @thugjitsumaster
    I wanted Nick to win but there’s no way Condit won 4 rds backing up
    and i have to add what Joe Rogan and Ariel Helwani said…. NICK WON THE FIGHT…
    so it´s a good thing for MMA fans to have a rematch and this time watch a real fight…

    • Jessed2011 says:

      Oh wow! what a great example!!!! A bunch of has beens, some non contenders, and a mouthy woman!!!! I have never been to an Arkansas family reunion, but that paints of hell of a picture for me!!! Mark Munoz is the only one who can actually comment, but that is only one opinion

    Why would Condit want to have a rematch before fighting GSP? That is a lose lose situation for him. If he wins, so what? He beat an opponent he has already beaten. If he loses, he loses his title shot in which he has earned. The best scenerio is to let him and GSP for the title. Nick needs to take a fight before then, to set up another #1 contender fight in which he would get the loser of the title fight. If condit loses, Nick gets his rematch, if GSP loses, Nick gets a much anticipated fight. My suggestion to Nick is to have a better gameplan if he plans to succeed. Apparently his last gameplan was called Jerry Springer…….Thats when you stand on a stage and decide to talk while someone else tries to punch your fucking head off!!!!

      @Jessed2011 your a MORON if you think that all these fighter and trainers are not more knowledgable than you, couple of those has beens as you say are legends so it is apparent you #dontknowshitninja. dont act all hurt cause every one knows Condit won a BS decision. talk to any one that trains or fights for that matter and i betcha more than 70% will say that Diaz should have won. sugar ray leonard and mohamed both fought similiar to the way condit did. The diffrence was they had 12 rounds and actually knocked people out when they did it.

        In all fairness, i will retract part of my previous statement. I stand corrected, and will say that you are right. Most of them are legends and not has beens. Some of them, not all. But your arguement is also flawed as well. Ali, and Leonard had plenty of 12 round fights that went to a decision. And for that matter look up your history. before modern day boxing, there was bare knuckle fighting in which 2 guys would go until someone quit or was knocked out.This would go on for as many rounds as it took to declare a winner. This would go on for 50-100+ rounds. It is the reason that we have a scoring system today, along with a set amount of sanctioned rounds. There were not draws back then, and many combatants died in the ring. Combat Sports are ever evolving, in a manner that keeps the fighters as safe as possible. Why do think there is no standing 8 count in mma?

    Simply put, yes Diaz SHOULD have one, but DIDNT win. He was content to stick to a gameplan that wasnt working, and play into Condits gameplan which caused even more frustration for him. If people want to bag on Condit for supposedly running away all night I am fine with it. Truth be told i am not really a big fan of him anyway. But Dont place all the blame on Condit for the decision. Diaz could have shut the fuck up and fought. Last time I checked the time for talking is over once the cage door shut.
