Poll Results | Did Josh Thomson Deserve To Win Last Saturday? | Fans Say Yes! | MMA NEWS
Last weekend on Showtime we saw one of the most memorable MMA trilogies come to a close, but the aftermath on the fight’s decision was a sore spot in the world of MMA.
The crowd booed when the score cards were read off. The champ raised his hand in victory, but the obvious signs of a beating weighed heavily on his face. The image of him on his back at the sound of the final bell was one the fans could not ignore and they cried out robbery in the arena and in the fights aftermath online.
We took this topic to our polls this week to see what our readers thought. Just like the crowd in attendance the BJPENN.COM nation also think Thomson should be carrying gold right now.
After five days of polling this topic 21.1% of voters believe that the fight was too close to call while another 25.1% feel that the judges got it right.
The support for Thomson was more than double that of the champion Gilbert Melendez. Thomson garnered 53.8% of the total vote which shows that the majority of our readers here on BJPENN.COM believe that he got robbed of his victory last Saturday.

Josh himself stated “I should not have left it in the hands of the Judges”.that being said it was a great fight.Gilbert absolutely won the first two rounds while Josh easily won the last two. the third round was not clearly won by either , but the judges clearly thought Gilbert did more to win than Josh
No, TWO of the judges thought Gil did more to win.
Split-decisions suck.
Gilbert, in his last two fight whether or not he is the Strikeforce or not AND HE IS AND THATS HOW IT IS, has been fighting to not lose.(barley saw him let loose in his last two fight) and if he is trying to say Thompson or Masvidal were not worthy than he should have put them away. i think he lost that last fight to thompson due to lack of effort by Melendez. Thants just my two cents.
