UFC on FX 5 Lands Browne vs. Bigfoot as Main Event | UFC NEWS
Travis Browne may have been disappointed when his fight with Ben Rothwell was scratched for UFC on FOX 4, but it may have been a blessing. Browne has landed himself in the main event of UFC on FX 5 and standing across the Octagon will be Antonio Silva according to USA Today.
Heavyweights Travis Browne and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will headline the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Minnesota in October. USA TODAY Sports on Thursday learned from UFC officials that Browne will fight Silva on Oct. 5 in the main event of UFC on FX 5, which will take place at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Browne is 4-0-1 in the Octagon and holds one of the most spectacular knockout wins in recent memory over Stefan Struve. Travis has one draw against veteran Cheick Kongo that he would surely like to settle at some point, but according to Browne, “I am focused on getting the title”.
Antonio Silva is 0-2 in his last outings and 0-1 in the UFC. His last fight was a loss to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 146. That fight ended in 3:36 of round 1 with Silva getting a TKO loss for his efforts. Browne is a credible opponent and a win over him should put Silva back in the UFC’s good graces.

Good fight, dont like how they moved it tho… Bigfoot must not have been training, although he should have been cuz its his Job.
Yes! Glad they didnt leave Travis Browne hanging. Long wait tho considering he was supposed to fight next week.
I see Browne winning this one.
Good fight but no way near worthy of being a main event.
It free dude what the ****…..
2 monstahs
im so ****ing tired of the ufc throwing big foot in big fights as if he’s good or something. imo bigfoot has no business fighting any top 10 hw or any young powerful up and comers like Brown. well bigfoot gets ko’d for the 3rd time in a row then gets booted out of the ufc. i would have luved to see brown vs mitrione/stipe/hunt/country etc any1 but sorry ass bigfoot.
Bigfoot gets a main event spot after his terrible performance? He’s a great fighter but doesn’t deserve a main event based on his last
Fight
bigfoots last fight before getting cut
Yeah I don’t think this is main event worthy.
