Ratings Report | UFc on FX 5 Prelims On FUEL Draw Record Low Audience | UFC NEWS

BJPenn.com previously reported TV ratings for UFC on FX 5:  Browne vs Big Foot drew 1.1 million viewers and gave a much needed boost to The Ultimate Fighter:  Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson Episode 4.

UFC on FX 5  Browne vs Big Foot Prelims marked the lowest for any such broadcast on Fuel TV drawing 44,000. The previous low was 86,000 for UFC on FX 3 in June. Typically preliminary bouts on Fuel TV draw well over 100,000 viewers on Fuel TV, and have peaked as high as 165,000 viewers for the TUF Live Finale.

Fuel TV executives have been extremely happy with the numbers the network has drawn since it became the cornerstone for UFC programming on Fox networks. Since Jan. 1, Fuel TV’s prime time viewership is up +185 percent vs. 2011 and for the first nine months of 2012, Fuel TV’s total viewership is up +110 percent compared to 2011. George Greenberg, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Fuel TV states:

“As we enter into the fourth quarter of the year, we’re delighted that the ratings success we’ve had so far in 2012 continues to string together nine months of ratings growth in the television business is an incredible feat. We’re grateful for our partnership with the UFC and excited to have become the first place fans come to find live UFC fights, weigh-ins, post-fight shows and live specials.”

  1. Hahahanninen says:

I dont have FX and I’m not going to get the channel just for prelims and a few events every now and again, make it more available to everyone and you’ll get higher ratings. duh.

  2. life is meh says:

I am never going to get Fuel tv with just prelims and so-so cards. Especially not when I can get stuff like UFC on Fox 5 for free.

  3. Westside Daddy says:

The low numbers aren’t due to a lack of interest or fanbase its just the lack of availability of fuel tv or fx as channels to the general public. These channels aren’t spike tv that can be seen on basic cable so it decreases the audience immensely. The prelim fights were ****ing dope anyways it was all brutal KOs and subs the only fight that sucked was the Prater/LeVesseur slowdance/hug-off so its definately not the card either. I don’t think the UFC executives are trippin on this especially with UFC on Fox 5 coming up
