UFC On FX 4: Guida vs. Maynard Predictions | UFC NEWS

By Jose Garcia
Another event on UFC on FX and another solid fight card. Clay Guida battles fellow lightweight contender Gray Maynard, when the two meet tomorrow at UFC on FX 4 from Atlantic City from the Revel. Guida is looking to gain more ground as Maynard is seeking to get another title shot in the near future. Here are some predictions for Friday night’s main card fights. Agree or Disagree, Lets hear your predictions?!

Main Event

Clay Guida (29-12) vs. Gray Maynard (10-1-1)

My Prediction: Clay Guida via Unanimous Decision

Cardio, Energy, Intensity. I think these are all enough to get Guida through this fight. Don’t get me wrong, Maynard is a beast but Guida will grind out another win. First round will be full of action, Guida and Maynard will exchange early and often. Guida will successfully take down Maynard throughout the fight, yes Maynard is a wrestler but Guida’s cardio and relentless take downs will wear on Maynard. Guida picks up a decision in a tough fight and looks to gain a title shot in the near future.

Spencer Fisher (32-8) vs. Sam Stout (17-7-1)

My Prediction: Sam Stout via TKO (Round 2)

Stout comes into the fight off a tough loss to Thiago Tavares, he will come back in dominating fashion. In round one, Stout will control the pace and cut off the ring and continue to pepper Fisher with punches. The quickly fading Fisher will look sluggish and slow in a tough fight against Stout. Stout will pumble Fisher early in the second round, dropping him with a right hand and finishing the fight on the ground. Sam Stout will pick up his third win in his last four fights and continue to climb the lightweight ladder.

Brian Ebersole (49-14-1) vs. T.J. Waldburger (15-6)

My Prediction: Brian Ebersole via Unanimous Decision.

Ebersole and Waldburger have an excellent chance of flying under the radar and nabbing the fight of the night award tomorrow night. This is going to be an absolute war. Ebersole and Waldburger will exchange early and often, Waldburger will attempt to take down Ebersole after being peppered with shots in the first round. Ebersole is going to grind out a win against a very hungry and young Waldburger, who has a bright future ahead of him in the octagon.

  1. B-rad says:

idk why everyone thinks guida can just LNP a win against maynard. Gray is a beast wrestler if someone cant be lnp’d it would probly be him

    • the Natural says:

The only adv guida has over maynard is being able to take a beating. I think were goin to see that tonight

  2. CanILive says:

Why is this card free…. And the Brazilian card a ppv. They definitely should’ve have done it the other way around, but only way I’m buying that ppv is if I have absolutely nothing to do Saturday night, Don’t get me wrong I’m sure the tuf guys will put on a show. But I’m barely interested in seeing Franklin vs wandy

    • m says:

Good Call. In fact, they both should be free.

The Brzil card has nobody on it. The main event wouldnt even be a co-main event in most PPV’s.

Definitely passing on this PPV. 148. Different story.

    • Quitcrying says:

It’s on ppv so they can bank on the 12 million viewers in brazil

  3. B-rad says:

i agree…that card does blow a bit lol

  4. some dude says:

they should have atleast mixed both the cards up to meke the ppv better even the fx prelims are better then the main card on the ppv

  5. stephen riddle says:

Last card i bought was diaz condit and the next one i buy will have a diaz on it! Or a PENN!

    • jones says:

@ stehhon ridddle i agree man…im same last card i bought was diaz being robbed and i will wait for his return and title shot that he deserves to throw my money away…even bj i would rent it for him if he fought at lw but i like bj too much and i feel sick to my stomach when i see him get his ass beatin,,,,and at ww he is too small anyways you slice it…he thinkins he lost to diaz cuz diaz used his size and is fence fight? u wait and see rory size advantage and how he will use it…. bj will cry after that loss also….he needs to get serious or stay retired…i was happy when he retired if he is just going make joke of himself and fight at ww …..i could be champ at lw but chooses to get ass beat

  6. jones says:

my perdiction for any guida fight since he got with jacksp n is boring and point attacks

  7. Nick says:

I got Gray winning the main event. I don’t think Guida will be able to handle Gray. The PPV isn’t worth it like everyone is saying. They should make it free. This was the first time I’ve made plans other than UFC for a PPV in like a year.

  8. stonerman says:

Is this bloke high, Guida by decision. Gray is going to destroy Clay. Successfully take gray down. He hardly gets taken down even by the best wrestlers. Gray by TKO.

  9. stephen riddle says:

I will support penn and his decisions he will be ready for this fight if not why would he take it. Whoop his ass seabass!

  10. Cigaro says:

    Ebersole by Cartweelkick KO.

  11. chris says:

Hmm guida isn’t going to have an easy fight some people need to watch MMA more. Even the stout fisher prediction was just like some shit the guy made up off the top of his head…come on with that

  12. A.James says:

Guida has a speed advantage. That’s it. Maynard is stronger, has better wrestling, and better hands.

  13. AdrianM. says:

    Ebersole by Cartweelkick KO. +1

  14. Everyone loves what you guys are usually up too. This kind of clever work and exposure! Keep up the amazing works guys I’ve you guys to our blogroll.
