UFC On Fuel TV 9 Full Results

In rare fashion the UFC’s Saturday event is over right smack in the middle of the day.

UFC on FUEL TV 9 took place from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden and featured a main event between two UFC newcomers in Gegard Mousasi and Ilir Latifi. In the end the superb striking prowess of Mousasi served him well as he easily walked away with a one-sided unanimous decision victory after three-rounds.

In the co-main event Ross Pearson was tapped to welcome Ryan Couture to the Octagon. Couture, much like his father, used an impressive clinch game to control the pace of the first round, however Pearson found his range in the second and put the UFC Hall-of-Famer’s son away via TKO early.

McGregor first Irishman to be a UFC champion.

    • Ddddddd says:

He did look FANtastic. I think most of the fights were great matchups and pretty close fights. Mcgregor gave me what I wanted from Gustufson with even a little more tenacity. Good job at filling the void McGregor.

    • Jay says:

      That’s a little premature.

      • GET RID OF NATE "The Cheat" (forever) says:

Almost as premature as when Dana White called Philip Nover (male nurse) the next Andersen Silva.

However big props to this kid being a “REAL FIGHTER” instead of some wall n staller, lay n prayer, run away artist ie: clay guida.

This is the kid of fighter UFC needs that will bring it and be exciting each and everytime out win or lose. UNLIKE MOST fighters this kid wants to fight as soon as possible.

  2. Gargoyle Wrestling says:

A couple of thoughts about Mousasi. IMO he should have knocked out Latifi in Round 1, no doubt. But then I watched the post fight video and found out that he has a knee injury that sounds like it will need surgery so that makes his performance more understandable. He mentioned that he wanted to be cautious and not risk much in this fight. I suppose that is smart but what about taking the risk of finishing a guy EVEN when you are hurt? I was disappointed in his performance and the top UFC guys would have destroyed him last night. But now I see that he just held back. Hope he is healthy and shows what he can do next time out.

  3. GOT RID OF FITCH (finally) "forever" says:

Mousasi had everything to lose and absolutely nothing to gain by being careless or putting extra stress on already torn up knee. For sure he has torn ligaments and probably needs a full on ACL or MCL or both and UNLIKE PUSSY like Bisping who pulled out of a fight with Boetsch for a VERY MINOR tiny piece of torn cartridge that requires no down time as well as less than half hour scope and you walk out of the clinic Mousasi chose to take chance instead of canceling out. Keep in mind his injury was well before Gustaffson backed out with a EYE RUB. Couple drops of super glue and commission wouldn’t have even had to know about it. Mousasi is about 100 times better than most of you clowns could ever comprehend. Maybe he should have just stood there and stuck hi chin out and let that 235 lb Bulgarian wrestler land a haymaker on his chin. Is that what would have made you happy gargoly lay n prayer artist lovers. Mousasi is a “REAL FIGHTER” and just because he didn’t lay on his back for 15 minutes and satisfy your ,love for lay n pray doesn’t mean he couldn’t go with any lightheavyweight. Just remember it was Gustaffson that backed out not Mousasai and Mousasi had a REAL LEGIT in jury that 95% of fighters would not have fought with. Gargoyle please go away and love on oyur boy Jon “LAY N PRAY” Fitch as we are herte to discuss REAL fighting not boring ass lay n pray. Your boy Fitch will never fight in the major leagues again so please leave us REAL fans alone
