UFC On Fuel TV 8 Results: Hunt TKO’s Struve in Co-Main Event | UFC News
Mark Hunt brought the fireworks in the third round.
Hunt TKO’d Stefan Struve in a battled of heavyweights in Saturday’s co-main event.
Hunt landed a big left to start the third and followed again with another combination. Hunt backed Struve up and had him wobbly before knocking him out with a massive left hook. Hunt thought Struve was knocked cold and started to walk away before referee Herb Dean stepped in to call the fight.
Hunt landed a big left hook to start the second. Struve responded with a couple of crisp jabs. Hunt continued to chop away at Struve. The two continued to trade before Hunt tripped Struve but ended up in Struve’s guard. Struve worked a foot lock but Hunt escaped. Hunt continued to play the ground game and ended up in side control. The fight got to its feet briefly before a Struve takedown resulted in landing in mount and Struve reigned down punches. Hunt avoided an armbar attempt to end the round.
Struve pulled off a nice sweep of Hunt midway through the first round. Hunt had a difficult time trying to escape. Struve got the mount and started peppering. Strive took Hunts’s back and then transitioned to an arm bar but Hunt escaped and ended back in Struve’s guard. Hunt didn’t seem fearful of Struve’s dangerous submission game and passed the guard and got side control in the final seconds of the round.
The win improved Hunt to 9-7. Struve dropped to 25-6.
Final Result: Mark Hunt def. Stefan Struve via TKO Round 3.

Hunt’s the man! KO’s the bug guy ftw…& saves the card while he’s at it. Props to Struve for taking a few of those bombs earlier on though.
I thought this fight was boring. They both looked sloppy. Hunt got gassed and head hunted and Struve made enough bad decisions to let hunt get the KO.
Am i the only one who is no how impressed with Hunt? the mans MMA record is 9-7 last i checked thats HORRIBLE
prob cuz your an MMA noob and don’t realize he transitioned from K1 and had zero ground game when he began MMA. look at his losses – all first round armbars and kimuras. Now that he’s improved that aspect (as proven by his defense against Struve) he’s been knockin’ dudes out. @TBAGGY he gasses b/c he’s 260, 38 years of age, and doesn’t use PEDS. the people who have followed MMA for more than a year realize what he’s accomplished.
I agree totally. Well said. I knew hunt would wreck the UFC HW sissies. If he used PEDs like the others he would HW Champ.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. He actually looked comfortable on the ground
Owesome fight and maybe the knockout of the year…
WOW crazy how one can assume somebody is a MMA noob for not being interested in shit. 5 bucks says he loses to any top 5 fighter of his pleasing.
grt you are a jackass. You try way to hard to make everyone believe you are so knowledgeable about MMA, but nobody cares. All hunt can do is hit hard because of his weight. Wow that makes him really good? “knowing this information makes me so freaking smart about the UFC and everyone else is wrong and are noobs.. I know more than everyone I’m so cool.” Hunt was absolutely dominated in this fight, until he got lucky. Every heavyweight has a punchers chance of winning. I am not impressed by Hunts sloppy performance at all. He will never even see the belt.
THANK YOU!! the crazy part is im a “MMA noob” for not caring about Hunts KICKBOXING career. Hunt sucks his next fight will prove it
noobs…there all the same.
HUNT IS GARBAGE.. EARLY STOPPAGGE… HUNT WILL GET SMASHED BY ANY TOP 5 GUYS… HE GASSES AFTER 1RD
That was mercy shown by Hunt – He could have gone in and done real damage to Struve, when he realised the ref hadn’t called it he went into finish but was waved off. Hunt would have destroyed Struve.
I’m guessing you didn’t see the massive break in struves jaw you ****ing jerk job
Battle of the bellies… Hunt vs ‘Big Country’ Nelson would be a cool fight, right?
for sure, or Pat Barry.
Damn I had the giant Dutchman in this one, I guess he’s not quite there yet. He’s gotta learn to use that big reach like JBJ does, that being said good for Mark he’s been at her for awhile hopefully he reaps some cash benefits being he’s 38 and nearing the end of his career.
The fact that Struve gave up full mount twice pisses me off. He earned that jaw break. Great fighter with awesome skills, but he should have been smart about this one.
