UFC On FUEL TV 3 Books Pokrajac vs. Maldonado

The UFC has made good on finding a UFC on FUEL TV 3 replacement opponent for Igor Pokrajac.

Originally set to welcome back Thiago Silva, Pokrajac was forced on the sidelines when Silva got bumped to the main event slot as a replacement for “Lil Nog” in Sweden. However the UFC has now booked a suitable replacement for him in the form of Fabio Maldonado.

UFC on FUEL TV 3 is set to take place from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA on May 15. A featherweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Chang Sung Jung headlines the event.

Pokrajac originally got booked on the card as a replacement for the injured Brandon Vera. He comes into the bout with a two-fight win streak on his heels. He last saw action at UFC 140 taking our friendly fan favorite, Krzysztof Soszynski via knock out in just 35 seconds.

After being forced into a holding pattern for about a year due to injury withdrawals, Maldonado will now return to action. He last saw action last June in a losing effort to Kyle Kingsbury.
