UFC on FUEL TV 3 Adds Two More Bouts

A lightweight and bantamweight have been added to the UFC on Fuel TV 3 card as announced by UFC officials just yesterday.

Lightweights Kamal Shalorus and Rafael Dos Anjos have agreed to face off as have bantamweights Azamat Gashimov and Alex Soto.

UFC on FUEL 3 is set to take place from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA on May 15.

Shalorus is one of many WEC imports who have entered the UFC in the post WEC/UFC merger era. The Iranian born wrestler has yet to win a contest under the UFC banner and as a result likely fights for his position on the UFC’s roster in this next bout against Soto. We last saw him in action getting submitted by undefeated UFC newcomer Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on FX 1 this past January.

Facing the Iranian import is the always tough Brazilian born fighter Rafael Dos Anjos. Dos Anjos, just like his upcoming opponent, is also coming off of a loss. His most recent defeat came out the hands of Gleison Tibau at UFC 139.

On the bantamweight side of things the Russian born Gashimov is set on a collision course with Alex Soto in an attempt to keep his seven-fight win streak alive in his UFC debut. Soto on the other hand is coming off of a loss in his UFC debut against Michael McDonald at UFC 139.

No word on where these two bouts will fall on the evening’s card was given at the time of this report.

The latest UFC on FUEL TV 3 is shaping up as follows:

Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung
Donald Cerrone vs. Jeremy Stephens
Igor Pokrajac vs. Thiago Silva
Tom Lawlor vs. Jason MacDonald
Jorge Lopez vs. Amir Sadollah
Mike Easton vs. Yves Jabouin
T.J. Grant vs. Carlo Prater
Cody McKenzie vs. Aaron Riley
Brad Tavares vs. Dongi Yang
Jeff Curran vs. Johnny Eduardo
Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Kamal Shalorus
Azamat Gashimov vs. Alex Soto
