Four UFC on FUEL TV 1 Fighters Received Medical Suspensions

UFC on FUEL TV took place last week in Omaha, Nebraska from the Omaha Civic Auditorium. A welterweight clash between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez was featured in the main event of the evening.

It took all three-rounds for Ellenberger to secure victory tonight, but it wasn’t without its complications. After a pretty one-sided first two rounds Diego Sanchez was able to hurt Ellenberger in the third and eventually take the back of his opponent where he pretty much ended the fight delivering punch after punch after punch. In the end though, the judges scored it three rounds to two for Ellenberger.

Today the Nebraska State Athletic Commission released their list of mandatory medical suspensions for the fighters who took part on the card.

Surprisingly just four-fighters will be forced to take an absence due to damage received during their participation on the night’s event.

Ronny Markes who was able to outpoint Aaron Simpson in their main card bout has been suspended “indefinitely”. He must present a satisfactory doctor’s release to the commission before resuming training.

It was revealed shortly after his contest that he broke his hand.

The other three fighters all received precautionary 30-day suspensions and those went to Vagner Rocha, Phil De Fries and Dave Herman who all lost by either TKO or KO.
