UFC on Fox | Weighing in on Diaz vs Miller

By Lynn Mitchell:
Saturday May 5, 2012 in East Rutherford, NJ | UFC on Fox presents Diaz vs Miller
One month after Nathan Diaz received his jiu jitsu black belt from Cesar Gracie. Diaz currently holds a record of 15-7-0 (W-L-D). Nate’s victories include submitting Junior Assuncao, Melvin Guillard and Marcus Davis via guillotine choke, Rory Markham via TKO and Takanori Gomi via arm bar – that’s just mentioning a few. Nate’s accomplishments in the UFC includes receiving 5 fight of the nights and 3 submissions of the night. Nate’s last fight at UFC 141 set a CompuStike record landing 82% of the strikes he threw causing a victory over highly touted Donald Cerrone.
Jim Miller 21-3-0 comes from a Wrestiling and Jiu Jitsu background he has been in the octogan with the best fighters in 155lb division, with notable wins over Matt Wiman, Mac Danzig, Duane Ludwig, Mark Bocek, Gleison Tibau, Charles Oliveiras, Kamal Shalorous and with a spectacular submission over his last opponent Melvin Gulard. The New Jersey native has three losses- two of them by the divisions very top of the heap. Miller dropped 3 unanimous decision to Gray “the bully” Maynard, former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and now UFC lightweight champ Ben “smooth Henderson. Miller is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Jamie Cruz – a black belt under Renzo Gracie.
The lightweight division being so rich with talent it is definitely one of the most exciting divisions to watch. On May 5 these fighters will bring similarities into the octagon – both having received three Subs of the night, both sporting blackbelts in BJJ, both have brothers in the UFC. We have two fighters that bring almost the same submission and stand up bang it out game. This fight has fight of the night written all over it.

Diaz for the WIN
gonna be a great fight….
bjj is pretty even, wrestling to miller, striking to diaz…dont know who to pick…
BJJ IS EVEN??????????????????? UR JUST KIDDING RIGHT??????????
BJJ might not be event (in terms of pure bjj with the gi) but in mma with ground n pound and sweat as factors, I’d say even isn’t an outrageous statement at all.
WAR DIAZ!
People don’t like real fighters like the Diaz brothers!
DIAZ!!!!
Super Diaz bros got better boxning
The Diazs seem to have problems with good wrestlers. It will probably be Miller by UD.
Too close to call this one but can’t wait. good luck to both!
Diaz all day, as long as he doesn’t get dry-humped to death.
Diaz all will own him
I think it will be a great fight, Diaz will box him up and then hopefully tap him out when he shoots for a take down. I say Diaz by sub.
