UFC on FOX 6: Pettis, Bader & Main Event Fighters Take Home $50k Bonuses | UFC NEWS

The UFC on FOX 6 event has concluded and the four-fight main card delivered a solid mix of fantastic bouts decided by both decisions and finishes.

In the opening bout of the main card, Lamas was able to capitalize on a mistake made by Koch to earn a vicious TKO stoppage in the second round.

In the highly anticipated lightweight showdown between Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone, Pettis proved too much for the ‘Cowboy’ and stopped the Greg Jackson trained fighter in the first with damaging kicks to the body.

Rampage Jackson made his last stand against the fast rising Glover Teixeira. The two light-heavyweights delivered an action packed three-round fight, but in the end, Glover was able to out point the former champ in Jackson.

In the main event Demetrious Johnson survived an early scare from the strong left hand of Dodson that had him dropped multiple times in the first two rounds, however ‘Mighty Mouse’ persevered and was able to retain his title via decision.

For their parts, half of the main card bouts received bonuses in some form in the amount of $50,000.00

Here they are!

Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson: Fight of the night 50K each
Anthony Pettis: Knock out of the Night (TKO, body kick, strikes) 50K
Ryan Bader: Submission of the night (Guillotine) 50K

  1. rager_anonymous808 says:

pettis made that fight look scary easy.

  2. Time To Wrestle says:

He looked good and hungry, Ceronne, at best, is top 10 but not top 5. Pettis needs to fight a wrestler like Maynard or Miller in the top 5 and if he can beat those guys then he deserves a shot at Bendo. Bendo will annihilate Pettis now.

    • frank says:

no chance bendo walks through pettis. bendo has become much better since coming over from the wec but anthony is a better striker, faster & more explosive. bendo is a great fighter yes but he’s not a finisher. anthony pettis has the ability to finish the fight in a second. bendo will kick the crap out of gilbert and then anthony pettis will get the next shot and knock out bendo for the lw title.

      • Time To Wrestle says:

Pettis got beat up by Guida and he “lost” to Stephens. Then he kicks Lauzon and Ceronne for wins. Not one of these 4 dudes are top 5 at lightweight!! Circus-Shit Pettis has skills and is quick with some nice kicks form southpaw, but this dude needs to fight one or 2 top 5 that are wrestlers. If he can beat them then let him fight Bendo, but until then HE HASN’T DESERVED a championship fight. Comprende pendejos!! Brown Pride!!

        • Zack says:

That would make perfect sense if Pettis wasn’t bendos last loss. Bendo should want to avenge that but he doesn’t bcuz he knows he could lose again. There’s no denying both fighters are much better now, so why not fight again?

        • Jujitsu Player says:

If Cerrone is only top 10 at 155lb I’d like you to name the 9 guys ahead of him, pfft. Also he didn’t get beat up by Guida, Guida fought a clever fight and smothered him grinding out the win. His performance last night was ridiculous, plus he’s already beaten Bendo, both fighters have improved and both want to rematch. I kind of agree I with you about Hendo being the favorite though but think it would be very close….

  3. 123 says:

id love too see.. anthony pettis vs jose aldo

  4. kit says:

Rampage vs texeira was disappointing, shame he goes out like that.

  5. SimplyPhy says:

I disagree with the Rampage-Teixeira and Johnson-Dodson reviews. The Rampage fight was not action packed, Teixeira should have finished him so many times, it really became outrageous. Rampage was a rag doll for the last 3 minutes of the 3rd round.

And Johnson did more than persevere, he almost immediately returned to his dominant pace and controlled the rest of the fight.

A really exciting series of fights, especially Johnson-Dodson; it’s a shame Rampage had to leave the UFC on such a poor performance, and Teixeira has a lot of work to do before he could reasonably have a chance against Jones.

    • Thom says:

Glover vs Rampage was action packed, idk what fight you were watching. Also seeing as Page survived the first assault from Glover in the 1st rd i doubt he wouldve been finished later in the fight.

  6. B-rad says:

I wish Pettis was fighting Bendo next.. they have already fought once, yea but Pettis ACTUALLY deserves the title fight, Gilbert melendez should be coming off a loss he lost that 4th fight with Thomson.. Bendo will run thru melendes like a hot knife thru butter.

    • Time To Wrestle says:

WHY? Pettis was losing that fight with Bendo in the WEC. Just cuz he pulls off some stupid circus shit kick that didn’t did crap the fu’d up judges gave him the fight, when actually Bendo beat him. Then circus boy Pettis gets to the UFC and gets beat up by Guida, Holy Shit that should disqualify him for at least 10 fights!! Then he really “loses” to Stephens and then tko’s 2 tough guys in Lauzon and Ceronne that are top10 maybe. And you think this circus performer deserves a championship fight?? Bullshit, Let him fight a couple of top5 wrestlers then he will have earned a shot. This circus performer will never be champ.

      • Trevor says:

He got laid on by guida for a loss some how even though he landed way more shots, and was active the entire time. Guida barely did shit except take a nap on Pettis. Your judgement is retarded and you need to go back to WWE.

        • Time To Wrestle says:

Unbeliever Trevor, Pettis can’t beat a wrestler. He is one loss away from being another Ceronne. The dude will never be champ. He just ain’t real enough like Jesus IS!!

        • Sasquatch says:

Wrestling and top control are all good IF you actually do something with it (damage)… Guida hasn’t done sh!t his last few outings except lose fans because of his sorry ass dry humpin ways which were on full display last night. Hioki got absolutely robbed last night and EVERYBODY knows it, including the boss man himself (Dana)… Guida will never be champ or even get the opportunity to fight for the chance because Dana know what sells, and boring @ss top control fighters (dry humpers) don’t pay the bills.

      • MMAdro says:

You certainly say circus performer a lot……. well get this straight. that circus performer just beat back to back top 10 contenders with devastating fashion……and will continue to do so until he gets the belt that he deserved to fight for when the WEC and UFC 1st merged…….you are clearly just a very very scared Bendo fan who knows his boy bout to get beat again by the last man to beat him.

        • Mike says:

Bendo improved way more then Pettis. If he had so much trouble with a wrestler like Guida how is he suppose to have a dominant performance against an active top fighter like Bendo? Just don’t understand how you can make that claim. There is no way Pettis would dominate Bendo due in part to the fact that in a rematch the circus antics wouldn’t work so well. Fight would be interesting but just don’t see how Pettis who had trouble with Guida would dominate a better fighter like Bendo.

      • Nic says:

Yeah, he pulled off that “stupid circus shit kick” and nearly knocked Bendo out with it. And that fight was close as hell before that. And let’s not forget how he earned that WEC title shot to begin with. He’s not a circus performer, he’s a real fighter who’s good enough to fit in some weird shit when he feels like it.

Also, Guida is one of his two losses in his entire career, and he’s beaten opponents of higher quality before and since.

And you keep talking about how he can’t beat a wrestler. Look–the only reason why nobody talks about his ground game is because his striking is crazy. He is a top-notch grappler and is very dangerous on the ground, with a wicked triangle from, yes, the bottom. And he is a great wrestler himself.

Do you have something personal against that dude? Man. Cool down.
