UFC on FOX 3 | Hallman Injured, Tavares In Against Ferguson

In January we announced a lightweight bout between Dennis Hallman and Ultimate fighter winner, Tony Ferguson.

That bout has now been scratched in favor of Thiago Tavares vs. Tony Ferguson due to Dennis Hallman’s health status.

Hallman has suffered an injury that has caused his removal, but the nature of such was not disclosed at the time of this report.

UFC on FOX 3 is set to take place in New Jersey from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford. In the headlining bout Nate Diaz will take on Jim Miller in what was originally marketed as a number one contender eliminator.

Ferguson comes into the fight riding a six-fight win streak, including three in the UFC. The Ultimate Fighter winner knocked out fellow finalist Ramsey Nijem to win the show then went on to break the jaw of Aaron Riley and outpoint Yves Edwards in his short UFC career.

Tavares has found what you may call a “rebirth” in his career as of late. After taking out Spencer Fisher he went on to win big in his last outing against Sam Stout in a fight that was fast paced and entertaining. The consecutive wins give him a 4-1-1 record overall in his last six pro-contests.
