UFC on FOX 11 Headed To Florida With Werdum vs. Browne & Tate vs. Carmouche
Travis Browne is one fight away from a shot at the belt.
At the second UFC on FOX show of this year (scheduled for April 19th), we will have two new fights to look forward to, as Browne will face off against Fabricio Werdum in a title elimination match, and bantamweights Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche will look to assert their dominance against one-another.
Oddly enough, neither of these matches will serve as the night’s main event, which is still to be announced.
Browne has been on an absolute tear recently, going 3-0 in 2013 and enjoying a “Knockout of the Night” bonus in all three of those fights. His current record sits at an extremely impressive 15-1-1, with 6 of those wins coming in the Octagon of the UFC. Browne’s only career loss came by way of Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, in a fight which saw Browne shred his hamstring and become somewhat stagnant in his movements.
Werdum is also riding a three-fight winning streak, including a submission win over the almost un-submittable “Big Nog”, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Werdum also has a win under his belt that – at the time of the victory – was worth about 20 wins, as he was the first man to ever “really” beat the Russian destroyer, Fedor Emelianenko.
Tate is obviously coming off of her hard-to-swallow title loss against champ and arch-rival, Ronda Rousey, and looks to put a stop to her two-fight losing skid. She will do so against the always tough Liz Carmouche, who is also coming off a loss.
