UFC NEWS – UFC on FX 2 Books UFC Newcomers Shawn Jordan And Oli Thompson.
A heavyweight battle between promotional newcomers is set to go down this March when the UFC returns to Australia for their UFC on FX 2 show.
BJPENN.COM confirmed with sources close to the situation that both Shawn Jordan and Oli Thompson have agreed to square off in preliminary card action.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
Jordan boasts a high athletic pedigree. Fighting out of Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA, the former Strikeforce fighter enters the UFC on the heels of his most recent victory at Strikeforce Challengers 19 over Lavar Johnson.
Thompson was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC 138 against Phil De Fries but an injury forced his withdraw from the scheduled meeting. A British born fighter, he brings in a four-fight unbeaten streak to his Octagon debut.
