A new addition to the UFC’s debut on FX is set in the bantamweight division between Joseph Sandoval and Nick Denis.

UFC officials announced the bout yesterday afternoon.

UFC on FX 1 is set to take place from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on January 20. A lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller will serve as the evening’s main event live on FX. The preliminary bouts are expected to air on FUEL TV.

Sandoval is a Shark Fights veteran who made his UFC debut this past October against Walel Watson. As many fights have done before him, he entered the bout with a perfect professional record of 6-0 but failed to capture victory in his UFC debut.

Denis is a Canadian based fighter who will make his UFC debut. After competing for various promotions in both Canada and Japan he finally makes the jump to the big leagues on the heels of a victory this past October via KO slam against Nick Mamalis under the “Wreck MMA” banner.

The bout is anticipated to be on the preliminary portion of the card.
