UFC NEWS – UFC on FUEL TV 2 Books Nogueira vs. Gustafsson Main Event, Picket vs. Page Also Added

The UFC’s second trip to FUEL TV just got a whole lot deeper with today’s announcement of the evenings headliner.
UFC officials took to twitter this afternoon to announce that their first ever event in Sweden will feature local born Alexander Gustafsson vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the night’s main event.
A bantamweight bout between Brad Picket and Damacio Page was also announced.
“Sweden has been on our radar for a long time and on April 14, we’re excited to finally bring the UFC to Stockholm,” UFC President Dana White said. “We’re putting together a great card for the Swedish fans. I can’t wait to get there in April!”
UFC on FUEL TV 2 is now officially set to take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14th. In the main event of the evening light-heavyweight fighters Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will square off in a three-round matchup that is pivotal to the 205 pound division.
Gustafsson is one of the light-heavyweight division’s top prospects. He last saw action at UFC 141 taking out MMA veteran Vladimir Matyushenko via KO in the very first round. The win marked his fourth straight in the UFC, all of which have come via some form of stoppage. His lone loss as a pro- came at the hands of Phil Davis in his UFC debut.
Nogueira has been a long time staple of the light-heavyweight division and poses a real threat to the rising Swede. After back-to-back decision losses to Phil Davis and Ryan Bader he recently bounced back against Tito Ortiz at UFC 140.
In bantamweight action, Brad Picket will look to bounce back from his UFC debut loss against Renan Barao at UFC 138. He is currently 10-2 in his last 12 bouts.
Page is also coming off his debut loss at the hands of Brian Bowles and will look to notch his first UFC victory against Picket. He likely fights for his life in the promotion are only claiming victory in two of his last five fights.

out of nowhere everybody got on this guys nuts..
swedish meatballs! lololollol
Lil Nog gets beat up by yet ANOTHER up and comer.
Stop this madness and make Lil Nog vs Shogun II!
Cool for a fuel card i guess just one problem… COMCAST VIEWERS DONT HAVE ****ING FUEL TV. WATCH YOUR RATING SUCK! I CANT EVEN WATCH ELLENBERGER DESTROY DIEGO FOR THE FIRST ONE ON FUEL
Dude, didn’t you call this? If Gustaffson is worth the hype of Jone Jones he’ll put Lil Nog away easily.
Yes i did. Lets see how good Gustaffsons standup really is. This for me atleast is a fight i wouldnt know who to pick. Both guys have good chins and real good boxing. I could see Gustaffson winning if he uses his reach advantage and i could see Nog winning if he got him down he would have a real good chance of subbing him.
Who has the better ground game? If they both lost to Phil Davis, my money is on Lil Nog. But, Gustaffson vs Matsushenko was my first glimpse at him fighting and I didn’t get a good read of how great a fighter he is since they called that fight too early.
He has looked impressive in all his UFC fights. Even the fight with Phil Davis he was stuffing his TD’s for a good 2 or 3 minutes which i was not expecting at all from a kid with no wrestling background whatsoever. And ever since then he has only improved.
I’ll have to look for that fight and his fight with Matt Hamil. I missed both of them.
One of the primary reasons FOX did this deal is to push FUEL TV to more cable companies. Comcast is a giant so they’ll probably wait til it’s unavoidable to add FUEL but you can always ask them if they have any plans on adding it. Dana has said many times that the reason they’re doing so much UFC on FUEL is to get the channel to a broader audience. I have to pay an extra $7 to get FUEL and some other meaningless channels. My stupid cable company says it’s because FUEL costs them more so they have to charge me. It’s BS when I already fork out lot’s of cash for cable.
yup. I am not happy either.
Agreed like all these great cards and i cant see them cuz comcast doesnt have it
will be there to watch lil nog get knocked out
AG is a freakin beast. he wil be fighting for a title in the next 2 years i think. Nog is a good test for his standup tho, this will show where AG is in the division exactly
I got Gustafsson.I hopped on his hype train when he demolished Matt Hamill.
3 rounds? I thought main events were supposed to be 5 rounds now
Pretty good scrap.
Who the heck are they going to give Shogun to though? Winner of Rampage/Bader?
That’s what I’m thinking. Or at least Rampage.
This is a good test for Gustafsson – if he gets through little Nog then he could find himself a few fights away from a title shot. I hope the UFC don’t try and fast track him before he’s ready though.
Also, I think that if little Nog loses here, he should join the light-heavyweight ranks over at Strikeforce.

Pickett vs. Page is a great match up. Makes for an interesting fight – the winner should get an title eliminator bout with either Bowles or Johnson (if he doesn’t drop down).

Johnson already did drop down, he will be well better suited for flywieght considering he’s like 5’3″
