UFC NEWS – UFC on FUEL 2: Siver Books Nunes In Featherweight Debut

The German striker, Mr. Dennis Siver is headed to Sweden to make his featherweight debut against top 145’er Diego Nunes.

BJPENN.COM confirmed the matchup this afternoon after reports started circulating.

UFC on FUEL TV 2 is officially set to take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14th. In the main event of the evening light-heavyweight fighters Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will square off in a three-round matchup that is pivotal to the 205 pound division.

Once thought to be a possible title challenger in the UFC’s lightweight division, Siver makes the drop to featherweight after getting destroyed at the hands of Donald Cerrone during last year’s UFC 137. Prior to the loss he took out top prospects Matt Wiman, Spencer Fisher and most notably George Sotiropoulos to surge through the divisions rankings as a top 10 fighter.

The German will now take on a tall order in his debut at featherweight when he faces off with the top 5 ranked Diego Nunes.

Nunes is a Nova Uniao fighter who trains with assassins like Jose Aldo on a regular basis. He has only one defeat in his last five outings and that loss came at the hands of Kenny Florian back at UFC 131.

While not officially announced by the promotion, this bout is expected to take place on the evening’s main card.

roid monkey? that’s a bit assumptive. siver’s a tough task for anyone. i just didn’t realize he could even make FW. interesting matchup.

  2. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

How come Nunes has become the debut guy for FW division?

Idk who’s gonna win but I still think Dennis is going to be too slow for FW.

  3. Donnybrook says:

Good tilt… interested to see how the weight cut will effect Siver.

  4. andrew says:

i really hope he does well. best of luck to siver

  5. Shaun Douglas Breeze says:

Dennis might be a little slower then some of the feather weight guys , But if he lands one of his lethal kicks in the right spot alot of featherweights will go down.

  6. JMad says:

I think I’ll be picking Nunes to win this one.
