UFC NEWS – UFC Gives Palhares Etim and Barboza Fight Night Bonus Awards

UFC 142 went down tonight from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. In the main event featherweight weight champion Jose Aldo put his belt on the line against the undefeated Team Alpha Male product, Chad Mendes and with one second left in the first round knocked out the Sacramento resident to retain his title.
In the co-main event, Vitor Belfort earned his moniker, “The Phenom” and took the fight straight to Anthony Johnson. Winning the fight on the feet and taking his opponent out on the ground with an eventual rear naked choke to win the contest in the first frame of action.
For their parts on the evenings main card, Terry Etim and Edson Barboza took home “Fight of the Night” honors. Barboza is a double bonus winner as he also took home “Knock Out of the Night” for his third round spinning heel kick KO of Etim.
Rousimar Palhares took home “Submission of the Night” for his first round heel hook of Mike Massenzio.
Bonus amounts for UFC 142 were $65,000.00

Hopefully the replay evidence will make them turn Silva’s fight into a win for him. He deserves his win bonus in his check, cause obviously he’s a beast and just won fair and square. In 29 seconds.
I think tavarez wone all rounds 30-27. i believe that was what was read by the announcer
I think it was 3 29-28′s for tavarez but your right bruce cleary said all three judges scored it the same.
Palhares is one dangerous dude.
I know Sam Stout had it in the last round but when you judge all three rounds he didn’t have enough points.
