UFC NEWS – UFC Eyes April For Jones Return: Evans, Davis or Henderson Possible Opponents
It appears as if UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones will have to wait until April for his return to action.
Originally wanting to take some time off after a rough 2011 schedule, the champ came out this month stating his desires to return to action as soon as possible.
UFC officials are willing to grant the champ his wish, however the soonest they are prepared to book him is for an April appearance. As it sits now the only April show officially announced by promotion officials is UFC 146 set for Atlanta Georgia.
Later this month Rashad Evans faces Phil Davis in a number one contender bout. The consensus is that should Evans come out of the bout victorious and injury free that he will be next to face Jones. However, if Evans fails to capture victory or walk away from the bout healthy the person next in line is Dan Henderson.
Until Evans and Davis face off on UFC on Fox 2 they champion’s next opponent is yet to be determined, but something tells me Dan Henderson just turned into a huge Phil Davis fan.

chael didn’t seem to have a problem landing a punch. he knocked anderson down twice. andyboy didn’t have alot of luck dodging chael’s punches, or his takedowns for that matter.
as far as andyboy silva going out on top, that is exactly what him and his manager ed soares are trying to orchestrate. hence the phantom shoulder injury and now of course the mysterious lower back injury. andy knows first hand how it feels to be locked in a cage with chael sonnen and he will do whatever he can to make sure that never happens again.

It’s most likely going to be Hendo since Rashad keeps injuring himself. It will NOT be Davis! His stand up sucks and is worse than Brock Lesnar’s. If Davis some how gets the title shot, Jones will eat him alive.

anderson sivla would **** him up in a rematch. he came into that fight training like always and ill admit silva underestimated the dude but sorry he did do enough most of the time when he was on top his punches were being thrown around 50-60 percent. not nearly enough to stop anderson, if you look at when he has silves back and is punching him, the lookon silvas face was something like ” is this guy ****ing serious right now. yes he popped anderson a few times, even got him down, but if you saw anything you would have seen anderson connecting plenty of times. anderson is a better all around fighter, i mean just look at the end of that fight, say its lucky all you want, he escaped by the skin of his teeth whatever but the fact of the matter is that he won out of pure 100% hard work,dedication and skill and being more focused. not luck. and now if they rematch ever i can promise you anderson trains balls to the wall all out and come out and ****s sonnen up within the first 2 rounds

In my opinion anybody who thinks Rashad Evans is underrated is either basing this assumption on prejudice towards Rashad or simply doesn’t know anything about mma. How can you even say Rashad isn’t number 2 in the division when the man is 16-1-1 and Jones has already beaten most other competition at LHW. Unless of course you don’t think its impressive that he’s beaten Bonnar, Bisping, Liddell, Griffin, Thiago Silva, Rampage, and Tito. I’m not sure if you even watched the second Ortiz fight but to me Rashad looked incredible and beat a rejuvenated Tito coming off a high profile win. Jon Jones is the real deal and I don’t see anybody beating him for a while but if anyone is going to do it it’s Rashad. He’s a complete fighter with great wrestling and great standup and he’s trained with Jones in the past.
rashad looked like crap v rampage and thiago but he looked incredible vs tito 2. but tito actually landed on rashad in that fight, if jones lands anything on rashad its nitey nite. i honestly dont think he wants that fight and hes just talkin smack (rashad of jones), a lot easier fighting guys like phil davis and collectin ur paycheck.
I agree with both of you that he looked incredible against Tito in their last match. My only concern is that Rashad won’t be able to take the damage that Shogun and Rampage could take against Jones. I think one spinning elbow and Rashad might be done.
If Rashad pushes the pace like Machida and tries to take him down it might be more competitive than people think. I still think Hendo has a better chance than Rashad.
