UFC NEWS – UFC Announces Peralta vs. Semerzier Rematch For UFC on FX 2

A featherweight rematch has just been added to the UFC”s second card scheduled for the FX network.
Mackens Semerzier and Robbie Peralta have agreed to rematch after their first bout resulted in a no-contest.
It was Peralta who received the victory over Semerzier in their original matchup in the UFC on FOX 1 preliminary card but a replay of the action clearly showed an illegal head-butt was to blame for downing Mackens. The California State Athletic Commission overturned the victory result into a no-contest following review of the footage.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
Prior to their no-contest Peralta was seen at UFC Fight Night 25 taking out Mike Lullo, the win was his eighth straight victory.
Before Semerzier hit the canvas in their UFC on FOX 1 bout, he had taken out Alex Caceres at UFC Fight Night 24. The Caceres victory snapped a three-fight losing streak and likely saved his position with the promotion.
