UFC NEWS – UFC 142: Paulo Thiago Out With Injury, Stanislav Nedkov Out Due To Visa Issues

Two changes to next month’s UFC 142 have been made due to fighter’s inability to compete on the scheduled date.
Both Paulo Thiago and Stanislav Nedkov have been forced to withdraw from their scheduled bouts.
UFC 142 is set to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. In the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Brazilian police officer and UFC welterweight fighter, Paulo Thiago, has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Mike Pyle due to a dislocated elbow injury suffered in training. He last saw action during the UFC’s last trip to Brazil at UFC 134 in a victorious effort over David Mitchell.
Stanislav Nedkov has been forced out of his scheduled bout with Fabio Maldonado, however is departure from the event is due to visa issues. Nedkov was last seen taking out the highly touted Luiz Cane in the UFC’s last trip to Brazil at UFC 134.
No word on replacement opponents for Pyle and Maldonado were indicated at the time of this report.
