Pays to be an ASS
and bisbing “lost out” by fighting miller what a ****
I’ll never understand why Bisbing gets the money he does and why he is in such good standing with the UFC, I mean Dana please quit hanging off his sack and pay him about a 1/4 of what he is making because that is all he is worth!!! I mean really what a jerk!!!
He won TUF, he’s technically sound, he fights top level oposition and for the most part is successful, listen you might not like his attitude or the fact that he’s a ‘jerk’ but none the less, the dude can fight….and he has cardio for days and his work rate is exciting, specially since he’s a stand up fighter that likes to go to the body. Hate him or love him he puts on exciting fights and his pre fight antics force people to gravitate to his fights, I too hate Bisping but he defeated a very tough mayhem miller in a very impressive fashion and then he surprisingly was humble in victory…say what you will…the count earned his purse on saturday night.
He’s also the poster boy for UK.
Can’t argue with his Record or who he fights etc..But man! I know guys who make half that who are legends in the sport and have held belts and titles before! So what gives?
I’m not from the UK but I’m going to assume that Bisping is the biggest selling point for the UFC in UK and the surrounding area and Bisping and his management team know that. Also the only times he’s lost in his career are title eliminators. He’s an amazing fighter but still a dick.
plus most people pay to see him get hiss ass kicked
I dont understand the UFC pay structure. Bisping gets 425000 and henderson and rua got 200k and less. Hmmm.
no excuse but part of it has to be that Bisbing is synonymous with the UFC. He won the ultimate fighter and is their main ambassador to the UK and most of Europe. Whereas Shogun and Henderson are not synonymous with the UFC, I associate both of them with Pride, and Hendo was the poster of Strikeforce of a good while.
good points, i didn’t even think about that. Still, this guy is overpaid like Cung Le. I wonder if those two will be fighting.
Bisping gets 425,000 because for some reason Dana loves him! (He is loved in his own country and because of that he means European money for the UFC. Dana doesn’t care what this jerk does or says as long as the money keeps flowing.) I have never thought he was a good fighter. He is boring to me, he is a stand up fighter without power. He is vulnerable to a heavy puncher (Henderson) and he fights not to lose. I think it is a disgrace what they pay him when in my opinion (which by the way I don’t profess to think means anything to anybody but me!!! lol) he is a top 20 fighter at best. Unfortunately, like I stated early he is only making the money he is making is because he is the British poster boy. I would love to see Henderson crack his ass again!!!
That’s probably all true. He is the stand up GSP. Too bad Hendo is staying at 205
I like Bisping but this pay is not deserved, he really shouldn’t earn more than the likes of A.Silva should he? I mean Silva is the champ of that division and has beat everyone in it, where as Bisping has beat tough guys but no one special. I was also very disappointed with with the fight, Mayhem was pathetic, He gassed in the first round and it looked like he had never thrown a punch in his life and Bisping didn’t look himself he looked slow, sluggish and seemed his cardio was not up to its usual high standard.
Bisping usually gets a % of PPV shares due to him being huge in England, this might have just been a way to compensate for the fact that it was on free TV. Bisping is a cash cow for the UFC.
All very good points!!! I also thought he looked pretty gassed. Had Miller not been even more gassed Bisping would have been in some real tired. I thought Miller was trying to get him into the last two rounds to let him punch himself out but he just got too tired and was taking too much punishment. I have not seen anybody talk about it but after the fight Bisping could not even get up off the mat and Miller was able to get right up and was protesting the stoppage. I didn’t want Miller to take anymore punishment but at no time did Bisping have him in trouble of being KO’ed. he was tired and could not defend himself but those little lightweight punches that Bisping was peppering him with were pathetic. A little more cardio and Miller would have limped into the 4th or 5th round and would have taken him down with ease and would have choked his rude British ass out!!!
He deserves it I mean I don’t like him but you have to look at it as a business perspective. There are some people I know in the UK that despise him but he mainly draws in the UK crowd. So he deserves it. When you’re talking about figures you can’t look at is a as a fan, you have to a take a business approach to it or you won’t understand why he makes that much.
A lopsided victory Bisping and lopsided pay for Miller…. 45 grand? They got a bargain for Miller. What is Dana complaining about?
The reason bisping is makin that kind of money is because hes the top fighter from a country that mma is extremely popular in. He also has only lost 3 fights…a close decision to rashad and wandy and the hendo ko. Im no bisping fan but he is a hell of a fighter.
Who the fukc does this guy thinks he is,GSP,Silva,Lesnar? If the fights weren’t for free on spike I’d be reading about them,You would need a stacked mofo’king card for me to ever buy PPV,with this douchbag headlining! Damn Dana’s really got the UK’s nutsack down his throat $425,000……pity!
Hmm… Bisping got ****ing paid!! Kind of weird that he is a TUF winner. Lets see, all the shows contestants -1 fought at the event and all of them at the 8+8 pay scale including the shows finalists fighting for the “six figure contract”. Then you look at last seasons winner Tony Ferguson who got paid 15+15, and he’s doing really well in the tough match ups he’s been given in the UFC. Then you look at what fighters like Bj Penn and Anderson Silva get paid for their title fights, and you quickly realize that skill sets don’t play into the negotiating terms when it comes to UFC contracts
bisping would have only gotten 275k if he lost and miller would have got 195k if he won but he didnt because he isnt and was never good enough for the ufc but your hate for bisping blinds you from the truth and i dont see how you can not see it as fair… if miller wanted more money he should have won that win bonus but instead he was exposed once more and sent back to the minors
Miller wouldn’t of received the same win bonus Bisping got, that number is negotiated in the individual fighters contract, but the win bonus is never more then the base salary. So the most Miller could have made was $90,000 if he had won while Bisping would be earning nearly 200k more than him for losing
If any of you think that Bisping makes the type of money as Anderson, GSP or Lesnar you guys are clowns! This is just the pay package released by the NSAC. These guys would all be getting heaps more. GSP’s last fight they released like a 300K figure I think (memory isn’t the best) yet he admitted to earning over 1 million bucks a fight? I’m sure the same would be for Anderson and Lesnar too.
Behind the scene’s pay is beside this point being argued, the point is this base fighter salary is a mockery to the top skilled fighters
bj got less to get his ass beat by diaz, even if he won he still wouldve been paid less.. just proves you only have to be marketable to make it in the UFC.. skillsets mean squat, this dude and lesnar.. smh
I dont give a fucc bisping talk shit and go hard and as it shows he can bacc it up miller talk shit is a alright fighter just couldn’t bacc it up this fight
*coughUNDERPAIDcough* ….mma needs to start making boxing money, these guys are the ultimate warriors, people around the world want to see full contact combat, they dedicate their entire livelihood to putting on a show for us…they should be paid SO MUCH MORE
POSTER BOY FOR THE UK. He IS MMA in the U. K. That’s why he gets paid lime that. Dan Hardy failed so UFC needs to give Bisping that cash to keep the money flowing in from UK. It’s a good move for everybody.
I think his pay is far over compensating.. I know camps are expensive and trainers and coaches aren’t there for free neither.. But that’s almost like Lidell numbers if I’m not mistaken.. Guys like Kongo get about 70k in a loss but win bonus at 140k ,at UFC137 BJ had 150k and had he had won the match it would have been doubled.. Maybe and this is clear speculation but “you gotta be there friend” or in their “clique”.. If I remember correctly “Dana and Chuck” are tight.. Chuck makes 500k in a loss without the bonus for a win.. And Two different title belt holders like BJ “welter-weight & lightweight” champ makes 150k.. What’s wrong with that picture!? Both are legends but BJ has accomplished more in my eyes in two different weight divisions.. Only one other man can claim the same and he a legend as well.. And last I remember he was at about 250k with no win bonus.. Hmmm?
I agree with you. But I agree with OCD too. Regardless of how unfair it is to fighters like BJ, I think its because Bisping is Dana’s buddy and also because Bisping (for the time being) “IS MMA in the UK”.
I love me some COUNT!!
Welcome back
Its funny how the premier boxers like pac and mayweather get paind 20mill on estimate while mma fighters dont make anything close that. its unfair really. Bisping put on a good show so not hate based on what i saw.
