UFC NEWS – The Montreal Shift: 10 Fight’s Set For UFC 145 in Atlanta, Torres vs. McDonald Latest Addition

With the news that the UFC cancelled their scheduled appearance in Montreal, seven already signed bouts where left without a home or date of competition.
That has now changed. All fourteen fighters are now booked for the UFC’s return trip to Atlanta Georgia in April.
UFC 145 was originally scheduled to go down in Montreal in March, however after UFC officials cancelled the event, UFC Atlanta (which was originally scheduled to be UFC 146) is now coined UFC 145.
UFC 145 is set to take place on April 21st and is expected to take place at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena.
Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills, Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub, Matt Wiman vs. Mark Bocek, Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs Anthony Njokuani vs. John Makdessi, lightweights Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero, Keith Wisniewski vs. Chris Clements are all bouts originally scheduled for Montreal but have now been shifted to the Atlanta card.
The latest addition to the event comes in the form of a bantamweight bout between former WEC champion Miguel Torres and top prospect Michael McDonald.
Torres returns to action after being released by the promotion last month for controversial “tweeting.” After a media frenzy and loud fan reaction the promotion eventually gave the top bantamweight his job back and concluded that his actions post-termination evidenced his remorse for the infraction.
Torres last saw action at UFC 139 where he took Nick Pace to a decision and notched his third victory in four fights. His lone loss in recent history came at the hands of Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.
Welcoming Torres back to the promotion after his brief stint on the unemployment lines is the fast rising McDonald. He brings into the match a seven-fight win streak including his first three UFC bout victories over Edwin Figueroa, Alex Soto and Chris Cariaso.
With all the additions to the fast filling UFC 145 Atlanta card the event is shaping up as follows:
Michael McDonald vs. Miguel Torres
Maximo Blanco vs. Marcus Brimage
Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin
Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills
Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub
Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman
Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs
John Makdessi vs. Anthony Njokuani
Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero
Chris Clements vs. Keith Wisniewski

First….uhh
hey, first post… i wouldn’t brag about being first or a hewani look alike.
Miguel Torres = great fighter & i’m glad he’s back and out from under the panel van joke (it’s always sunny in Philadelphia – not workaholics).
Michael McDonald, my boy from Modesto California, is gonna take it to him. should be a great fight.
the card seems a bit ‘light’ though. there are some big names on the card, but it looks more like an FX card, not a PPV
Jones is suposed to head line also
