UFC NEWS – Steve Cantwell Returns Against Riki Fukuda at UFC 144

The ever growing UFC 144 card just got one middleweight fight deeper as Japanese born Riki Fukuda is set to face off with former WEC champion Steve Cantwell.
“UFC 144: Japan”, while not yet made official by the promotion, is expected to go down on February 26 live from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. As of current date, the event is expected to be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Benson Henderson.
Fukuda is the latest Japanese fighter to get the honor to fight on his home soil. After getting injured in a car accident and out of action for nearly a year he will return for this first time since his promotional debut at UFC 127 where he lost a very controversial decision to Nick Ring.
Cantwell hasn’t been able to string together success inside the Octagon like the rest of his WEC brothers who came over to the UFC. He is riding a four-fight losing streak and likely fights for his life this in February.
