UFC NEWS – Simpson vs. Markes, Brookins vs. Yahya Added To UFC on FUEL 1

Two more fights have been added to the UFC’s February debut on FUEL TV in the form of Aaron Simpson vs. Ronny Markes and Jonathan Brookins vs. Rani Yahya.
UFC on FUEL TV is set to take place in Omaha, Nebraska on February 15. No venue has been announced to host the event, but a welterweight match between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez will likely serve as the evening’s main event.
Simpson took charge of his own destiny following back to back losses to Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. The two defeats proved that the Arizona based fighter wasn’t ready for the elite level middleweights so early in his career and as such took on more evenly matched competition. He is riding a three-fight win streak inside the Octagon with wins over the likes of Eric Shafer, Brad Tavares and Mario Miranda.
Markes is part of the deadly assassin’s team over at Nova Uniao. After debuting at light-heavyweight for the promotion with a victory over Karlos Vemola he will now look for his sixth straight victory when he makes his middleweight debut against Simpson.
Brookins is best known as “The Ultimate Fighter 12” winner. He was last seen in action in a losing effort to Erik Koch at “Fight Night 25”. The loss snapped a four-fight win streak and he obviously will look to bounce back against Yahya.
Yahya is widely considered one of the best featherweight fighters in the world. However he has yet to live up to that accolade in the UFC. He was last seen in a losing effort to Chad Mendes at UFC 133 which marked his third loss in four fights.
The latest UFC on FUEL TV 1 card includes:
• Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez
• Dave Herman vs. Stefan Struve
• Ronny Markes vs. Aaron Simpson
• Jonathan Brookins vs. Rani Yahya

The card doesn’t look that bad.
Doesn’t look that good either. LOL
zzz i dont wanna see brookins fight anymore if he’s just gonna hug
Agreed
His las fight was the most boring thing i’ve ever seen. I’m glad he lost cuz he held the guy down and against the cage for 15 mins and I don’t think he threw a single strike. What a loser.
I’m confused.. I thought Pat Barry was on this card.
UFC on FX guillard vs miller Jan 20
Thanks.
brookins proved he sucks in his last fight..he is gracie bjj but lied ontop someone for a entire fight ….i hope brookins get smashed,,,there only room for 1 confused half black half jew in the ufc, and josh kos was there first ,,,so brookins gotta go..
I had high hopes for Brookins coming out of TUF but he has certainly disappointed. His striking sucks and he is a bore to watch.
