UFC NEWS – QuickTwitt: Cody McKenzie vs. Michael Jonhnson Set For UFC on FOX 2

If we are to believe the verified twitter account of UFC lightweight fighter, Cody McKenzie, than the UFC has booked a lightweight bout for their return trip to network television and put the aforementioned McKenzie in against his former teammate, Michael Johnson.
While not officially announced by the promotion, UFC on FOX 2 is expected to go down from Chicago’s United Center on January 28.
McKenzie is in desperate need of a win after suffering back-to-back losses inside the Octagon to Vagner Rocha and Yves Edwards. Before losing in the UFC he had won 12 straight fights including 10 straight by guillotine choke.
Johnson was last seen at UFC on Versus 6 in a losing effort to Paul Sass. Prior to the recent setback he was on a respectable run which saw him go 4-1 with the lone loss by way of TUF season 12 finale loss to eventual winner Jonathan Brookins.

how is McKenzie still with the UFC?
I have no idea. He said in his last fight that if he didn’t win he would hang em up. I see that he has changed his mind…
How did he ever get a fight. He is bang average and belongs on a much smaller local shows….
McKenzie will be cut im sure.
He didnt say hang em up he said he didnt deserve to fight in the UFC if he lost….
Johnson wins this
He’s a draw and has potential. I think it’s fair that he’s still here. That being said, one more loss and he is in a bad spot.
Must be a contract thing. I really dont care to see Cody fight in the ufc. He got lucky with some chokes in the past. his last fight showed how 0.5 dimensional he is. He is a fighter but not a good fit for the elite fighters in the bigger organizations. WAIT!! there aren’t any other organizations left!! LOL
Hope Cody loses again.
