I honestly believe if Jones can beat Machida, he will become something like the GSP of the LHWs, but I think that will be a great fight. I give Machida more than a chance, and he could become the Champ again, but I think also in that case Jones will come back better, just like Georges did after his losses. But hey, I could be completely wrong, and in a sport where anything can happen, it may just end up being “suga” again
I have a hard time thinking it could be Suga. I’d take anyone on the list over him, especially Henderson.

Hendo or Rashad, dont see Machida or Shogun taking it honestly. Would love to see Hendo get it and cement his spot in the Hall of Fame and as one of the top 5 greatest MMA fighters to ever compete.
shogun is the best fighter on that list, the problem with shogun he is too up and down, he will look like shit for a fight then the real shogun will show up, if they fight again and the best shogun shows up, shogun will be the next champ. and how come phil davis dont get any love on that list?

Jones is tough to beat right now. Something has to go horribly wrong for him to lose right now.
My heart says Shogun or Hendo, but think Jones is the man to beat..
I like how everyone assumes that “if anyone can beat Jones, its Evans”. I can almost guarantee that training together has shown Jones as much of Evans’ game as its shown Evans Jones’. Not to mention frame-wise Evans is considered a small Light Heavyweight and Jones dominates that weight class due to his size. Its not likely Evans wins that fight, no matter how much people speculate. And as for Silva, hes already said he would not be fighting Jones, mainly because he knows his reach and ability to dictate the distance of his fights is his biggest tool, which he would not be able to use in a fight with Jones. In my opinion no one is going to beat Jones, they’ll just have to wait until he out grows that weight class an has to move to heavyweight before someone else can take that title.
Who cares how big Jones is? When he’s on his back all of his advantages go out the window. He’s very talented and people compare him to Anderson Silva but the problem with that comparison is that lhw division has stiffer competition than mw. Eventually a better striker like Lyoto or a great wrestler like Hendo or Evans will get their day in the sun. He isn’t unbeatable and the belt changes hands too often in lhw in order for it to be in his hands for much longer.
The next guy to be lhw champ will be Phil davies

Although a Rashad fan I do not see how he has a better chance than Machida. Machida is the biggest threat to Jones.

I’m nowhere near a “Bones” Jones fan, but from a sensible standpoint I don’t see anybody beating Jones anytime soon. I think his toughest fights would be Henderson or Evans. (Rashad should be in this poll)

Maybe if Jones were an older fighter, but at this point he is still improving at the same rate if not faster than any other fighters that are even in contention. Having the belt at his age could be a huge advantage for consecutive defenses.
