  1. Jason says:

    Overeem is overrated

    • Mitch says:

will see …and Brock aint overrated haha The Reem is gonna kick his big ass

    • Kim says:

ban wagoneer? what are ya new?

    • BiggoTrav says:

I agree, Overeem is overated… but not nearly as overated as Lesnar.

      • Mike says:

Before his lost to Cain, I would’ve agreed with this, but I feel like he’s lost a lot of stock since then. Now I feel like he’s just seen as “that big guy” while Overeem is seen as the future longtime champion(I disagree with this heavily). Lesnar was the most overhyped, overrated fighter I’ve ever seen I do believe Overeem is a bit more so presently.

      • Logan says:

How is Lesnar that overated? In his UFC career he has only fought fighters that were in the top 5 or 6 in the UFC HW division….and he has held his own against them….to say Lesnar is overated shows that you do n ot truly understand the sport.

  2. ThaGreenBandit says:

Lesnar by TKO, early to mid 2nd round

  3. Xaninho says:

Lesnar will lose some teeth tonight!

  4. youranidiot says:

Yeah Lesnar is gonna bullrush him right away. If Overeem doesn’t stop the takedown then he’s prob gonna lose. I read in an interview with Mir that when he rushes in it’s at about mid chest level most of the time cause he’s so huge. That might make it difficult for Overeem to throw in the knee to the head and I can’t see him defending that takedown in reality. we will see soon I guess.

  5. n8twon says:

    Overeem by TKO round 2

  6. john nelson says:

I agree…Overeem is overated! He has never fought a beast like Lesnar!

  7. dave says:

people are crazy to think reem is going to win..look at who the reem has lost to/..he could barly beat verdum..brock is another type animal than verdum..i dont even like brock he has very basic skills he is just a huge man,.but in mma reems striking does not look that good..only against the wife beater brett rogers did he look good..

  8. Night-Wind says:

Overeem’s last fight with Werdum was so boring so i have to go with Brock.

  9. Jmad says:

when brock rushes in for the takedown they will collide with so much force that their bodies will genetically fuse together creating the most dominant HW ever seen, he will be known as BRO-VEREEM

  10. Mike says:

Big fight, and I mean purely in the size of the two men entering the cage. Neither man, in my opinion, deserves a shot at the title(though Overeem would be more deserving than Brock with a big win). However, this is a fun fight I think. Though I’m imagining it’ll be a short one.

The only real factor in this fight will be Overeem’s takedown defense. We haven’t seen him fight a good(let alone great) wrestler at all recently. If Lesnar takes him down once, even if he doesn’t finish him, he’s going to suck all the energy out of Overeem. That’s 270 lbs he has the carry, and from his last fight, I believe we can all agree Overeem cardio is very questionable at best. Lesnar’s hammerfists won’t do too much damage(very weak shots), but the speed at which he’s able to land them is overwhelming enough to stop the fight. The only way for Overeem to win in this scenario is to catch Lesnar in a guillotine on the way down.

Scenario number two(which is not how I believe it will go, but if it does…), Overeem is able to stuff Lesnar’s takedown. Overeem will pick Lesnar apart on the feet. I do believe Brock has a great chin, but he doesn’t know how to take a punch. This is a bit of an x-factor here. If he’s improved, he could very well survive in a striking match up. However, striking with Overeem would still be a terrible gameplan for Lesnar. Lesnar best shot would be clinching and putting him against the cage. Overeem has great knees in the clinch, but I believe Lesnar is just too big for him to control there. If it goes anywhere past the 2nd round, Overeem is going to be out of energy, and Lesnar will be able to secure a takedown, and the fight will be finished shortly after.

Both fighters can win the fight in either scenario, but both favor Lesnar in the long run. Overeem in the short. I’m favoring Lesnar in this fight, by 1st or 2nd round TKO. This is just my personal opinion on what I’ve seen of both fighters, I would like to hear other’s opinions though.

  11. Justen says:

Overeem has fought Liddel, Shogun twice, arona, Nogueira twice, Belfort, Werdum twice. How is he over rated? He’s gunna smash Brock. I don’t even think it’s gunna be a good fight. Reem is just gunna kill him. lol

    • Mike says:

He also lost to Liddell(KO), Shogun twice(KOs), Arona(Tapped to strikes), Nogueira(Decision and KO), and Werdum once(Kimura). His only quality win recently was an unimpressive showing in the Werdum fight. I’m not saying he’s overated, but we’ll find out if and how overrated he is tonight.

      • Xaninho says:

205 just wasn’t his weightclass, he had too much trouble cutting down and that had a really bad influence on his cardio and overall conditioning on fight day.

        • Mike says:

I don’t disagree with this, the weight class has a big influence on his performance. But since going up in weight, his only notable win was Werdum. And his cardio was very questionable in that fight. So we’ll see what happens. I’m excited for the match up.

        • IknowMMA says:

True but that counts as experience! Something Brock doesn’t have!

  12. BJPennrules says:

Good night Brock , if you thought Cain kicked your ass, your in for a worse beating tonight…..sorry

    2nd round complete knockout by

  13. James Wolfe says:

Cowboy and Reem, both winning easily, it won’t even be close. They are in a different league folks.

  14. Brian says:

Brock will not want to strike. As long as Overeem does not over estimate Brocks bower I see Overeem picking him apart on the feet

  15. mike f says:

I thinly it comes down to this. Has Overeem ever fought and beat a good wrestler? No.

  16. GreenTeaBagger says:

Overeem has done way more in the ring then Lesner, both with just stand-up and with MMA. This is the big show and, if Overeem can keep his nerves in check, I believe he will take the fight.

  17. GreenTeaBagger says:

Unless, of course, the Borg come….then it will all be irrelevant.

  18. Josh says:

if overeem can stop the take down then he will probably win but I don’t see that happening and I think Lesnar will use his wrestling to get the W.

  19. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

    Horse meat and waffles!!!!!

  20. sexillama says:

I’m wearing a DeathClutch shirt and watch a lot of MMA, and I have friends that train MMA, so I know what I am talking about. Reem will not be able to stop Lesnar’s takedowns. He will not catch him in a guillotine with his bigger arms and Brock has no neck. His only chance is if he catches him with a big punch or knee to deflect a take down attempt, and knocks him out cold. If he goes for high kicks, Brock will catch it and take him down. If Brock catches him with even a half powered jab, he’ll knock him down. Most likely, Brock takes him down early or clinches against the fence early, and if he doesn’t pound him out in the first round, it’ll be over in the second or third.

  21. MMAdro says:

Really starting to hate how a lot of people are saying “What quality wins does Alistair have” and that “He is so overrated”.

The guy hasn’t lost since 2007, currently holds 3 belts, out of his last 11 fights only 1 went to decision and 1 was a NC against Cro Cop for illegal knee to groin, all other fights ended in the 1st round with the exception of Paul Buentello in the 2nd.I mean yes you can argue that his recent wins are not over super serious top 10 fighters or anything, but you cant just call them all cans either. Give this fighter just a bit of some credit people.

  22. TrollMaster says:

Overeem by eye=popping Death Clutch on Lesnar’s neck

  23. fuck the diaz sis says:

REEM by roundhouse to the face one of those lands brocks fucked going to need an 10 man crew. Just to carry him out REEM!!!!

  24. MMAdro says:

And this is what happens when underestimation comes into an MMA fight, people get exposed and dominated.
