UFC NEWS – Poirier Books Max Holloway As UFC 143 Replacement

They say the third time in is the charm and let’s hope in this case it is.
UFC officials have now booked Dustin Poirier’s third UFC 143 opponent after his previous two bookings were forced to withdraw with injuries.
After his original opponent Erik Koch and replacement opponent, Ricardo Lamas both withdrew with injuries the fast rising featherweight, Poirier, will now face UFC newcomer Max Holloway.
UFC 143 is set to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend. Georges St. Pierre was originally scheduled to headline the event against the newest title challenger Nick Diaz, however an injury forced him off the card and Diaz will now face Carlos Condit for the UFC’s interim welterweight title.
Holloway enters the UFC with just four professional bouts to his credit and at just 20-years old he will have his hands full debuting for the world’s largest MMA promotion against an opponent of Poirier’s caliber. However, he is undefeated in his four pro contests and is said to be a huge talent who is ever improving.
Poirier burst onto the scene when he took out the former number one contender Josh Grispi at UFC 125. After a successful debut that derailed the title hopes of Grispi he has looked unstoppable, notching wins over Jason Young and most recently Pablo Garza in his last performance at UFC on Fox 1.
